Yep. Honestly, those games are not worth over five dollars each. You can buy GTA:VC for 15 dollars new. Used? No way over $5.00. Sports games are almost worthless after a new "year" comes out.

nope. Mabey my EB games guys are just to lazy to actually take the disk out of the box, but i sold them half of an Amped disk.

It was broken perfectly in half.. but not in the sense that your thinking not a left and right side snap but a top and bottom side seperation of the cd... it ruled so hard

Also sold them my FFX disk that was scratched into hades.

Again they dident even take it out of the box.

I guess it depends oh whose working. When I first started going to EB games they made sure everything I turned in was in pristine condition. Now that they know who I am, they don't check. I guess I could sell them some scratched up games but I know I would be pissed If it was me buying a shitty disc. I guess I'm just too nice::::01::

There is a difference between a return and a trade-in.

EXACTLY and no u can get like 20 bucks tops

Quit making false assumptions. Analysts figure out how much games are worth used after an X period of time. Those analysts then tell stores what to charge via a server. The employee then checks the server for the price. The most I have gotten for a returned game was 38.50 for my copy of MGS3 after it had been gold for 2 months.

Let him do what he wants jeeze, if he wont beable to sell or return the games... BIG DEAL. You dont have to be such an A$$ hole...

There is no harm being done in him trying to return the games.. he may be disappointed is all, stop flaming him.

you CAN trade in used games at EB, i do it all the time. i dont know about gamestop i dont shop there. NO you cannot trade in online games with a Cd Key, e.g. Guild Wars (UO is so old they would never give you a cent for it, besides the fact). you will usually get $3-$15 per game depending upon how new they are (some old games they will give you nothing for), also they will not give you cash only in store credit (at least the one i shop at does).

See'n as how this is page 4 you prolly already know this by now... Games stores will not take online games back AT ALL - I bought EQ2 and tried to take it back as soon as I checked it out..discovered it was crap.. went to trade it - they don't take em...

I tried to sell it in the store to customers while I was there but, of course they knew it was crap except this one dude who looked like a totally dork o' rama in the worst sorta geek way... he says he had it and loved it. Figured.. my god if that's the type of person that's playing , I don't wanna be envolved with it anyway. This dork probably thinks he is somebody cool in that game.. ouch..come to think of it a lot of people prolly do...gross

Anyway, you can't take back mmorpg's for credit..

Just looked at your profile.. spoken like a 14 yr old.. I was gonna guess 13 but, close enough. You posted here asking for advice... people (like myself) who have already tried to do this are offering you the advice you asked for. Then you are still ranting on about how it's worth a try...

IT HAS BEEN TRIED ... Do you think gaming stores are that stupid? The answer is no but, you prolly will say yes - since yer 14 and not heeding the advice given.

Just ask the parents to help ya out a bit with some cash to go with your non-mmorpg trades...

So far only jayheld90 seems to be the most knowledgable in this thread.

First off I think all you others that say EB Games doesn't buy used PC games should STFU and stop guessing, you are making an ass out of yourself more than providing any useful information. Secondly the ones saying that if it has a CD Key I say the same thing.

I sold over 60 PC games to EB Games about 6 months ago and made over $850 bucks in store credit or I could have taken 15% less in CASH. There are certain games they won't buy and how they know this is on their system, if it isn't listed then it means the game doesn't "SELL". Otherwords even if they had it in the used bin for 5-10 bucks no one in their right mind wouldn't buy it. I can tell you right now they won't buy Arthur's Quest, Blood, Blood 2, Hexen, Hexen 2, Daikatana and other POS's that didn't sell worth crap or was just plan ol POS. Not that they have a CD Key or having to do with a return. Infact I sold Neverwinter Nights back to them on 3 occasions after being talked into getting it a few additional times from my friends. There my friend is a CD Key that is even registered to an account to be able to even play in MP.

The ONLY games they won't buy are MMORPG games. The average is about 20 bucks if it is a resent release and still selling for 39.99 or higher. Other than that you will only get from 1 dollar to 15 bucks for it, depending on it's popularity. CoD I think you may get 10 for and CoD2 about 20, but that is a guess. As for Half-Life 2, that is the only non MMORPG game I know they won't buy because the CD Key is attached to a account that is "REQUIRED" to have to play "AT ALL". Just because a game has a CD Key and has multiplay doesn't mean they won't buy it. They bought Doom3 from me. The end result is this. If the publisher will take the game back then you can return it. Same rules apply to resell as used. However games like Neverwinter Nights will auto update the profile to reflect to the new user account. I created a NwN account at bioware and then created a new one and it just updates to the current. NwN and other games that do this don't attach the CD Key to a certain profile and lock it in. It is handled different and not such a big deal as a MMO where you use the Key to register an account. Only MMO's do that and of course as of lately Valve has for the HL2/Source software using Steam. Them are basically the only ones that you can't take back to EB...Plus of course any POS game that just STUNK like CRAP!!!

However, the guy that took in a CD that was completely snapped in half. Thanks to people like you that is what screws up the whole exchange system in the first place and only makes the rules more strict. Shame on you. I hope they flag your MMORPG.com account with a dickhead flag or something. People that do that crap are losers in game and real life.

Oh BTW, the original poster wasn't talking about UO. If you noticed, he had a ":" in between CoD:UO meaning Call of Duty: United Offensive. Shees, I think some you need to go back to school and learn the difference from a "," and a ":"

cute little story you got their, but no store trades in pc games. I think they might have, but they don't anymore that is for damn sure. We will all know if it is true when the origional poster doesn't come back on this thread.

$20 (or $25 CND) is pretty much the limit at EB here, but it need to be a game that is a new release...For exemple a game that release at the time WoW release is at $10 top(old stuff)...if the game is less then 1 month old(or maybe 2 in the case of big hits), it should qualify for $20.

Exemple:  You buy a new game, finish it in the week and bring it back...they usually are quite happy to give you back $20 considering it is brand new and they will resell it $40+ even used.

Also, you need to consider this, if you are a customer they recognize and they know you buy a LOT of stuff, they will generally be nicer with you if you are also buying another item and will pay $, because it is a long term investment, you will come back and buy more(exemple, they wont accept Morrowind(basic with no expension), but if they know you and you are buying some other stuff, they will take it).  Employees can do ''Mistakes'' willingly and they get praises by their managers, again it depend on if they know you.  If you buy your stuff at differents stores all the time, they wont recognize you and you wont get this special benefit.  This is why I alternates between only 3 competitors unless I am not doing my regular buying sequences(like with others persons, then I will shop at the same place they do).  Also, I often get pre-order bonus even if I dont pre-order this title(nor ask for the bonus), while I pass to pay my games.  This is called, catering your customers.

Lastly:  Differents cities will have different ways of handling their customers.  I dunno if you will get the same treatment in California, Texas, NY and Dakota...I somehow doubt it will be the same.

Sidebuster, some EB games DO trade in used PC games. How do I know this? I just did it today. So maybe your not so "damn sure" anymore?

Anyways a funny story. I bought UT 2004 a while back and decided to trade it in recently. They tokk it, not for much, but they did. I got home and realized I never took it off my PC. So, I still have the game available to play and I also got some money for it. Good times.

I think he meant games with cd keys that tie into your account. Like an MMO which is what started this whole thing.
