My God, awful subscription service. Please help

I have played lots of MMORPG's and this really is the worst setup I have ever encountered and I need help to even play it.

I bought the Dark Age of Camelot Catacombs pack here in the UK. Now the box says you require DAoC and it's 2 expansions to play. Next to that it says BONUS, a free version of DAoC and Shrouded Isles including 14 day free trial.

All in all 6 discs. So I install them all, this gives me DAoC, Shrouded Isle and Catacombs. Now when I go to subscribe I only get the option to enter a CD key for

DAoC
DAoC plus Shrouded Isles
DAoC plus Shrouded Isles - Trail of Atlantis
DAOC plus Shrouded Isles - Trial of Atlantis and Catacombs

Where the hell is just DAoC, SI and Catacombs in that list? I then realise that inside the box is one for DAoC and SI so I enter that and bingo, I can carry on. I see nowhere now where I can enter to say I want to register Catacombs too. Anyway, after a long process of emails I finally log into the game but then it says something like YOU HAVE NOT BEEN INVITED TO THIS SERVER DISCONNECTING...

What the hell is this? So it would seem I need to get hold of TOA to play, but why the hell was that not included in this boxset? Can anyone confirm this please? Is this why I cannot get into the game because I need TOA first?

Well. I can get into DAoC and SI but it looks crap. It would seem that before I can enter DAoC Catacombs I need to get hold of TOA. I am disgusted really, that I bought a product that on the box says Catacombs yet I cannot play the damn thing. No shops here sell just Trails of Atlantis so I have no idea where to get that from.

Take it back to Game I guess and get my money back.

order or find a store that has the platinum edition. contains DAoC, SI and TOA. then u can install catacombs afterwards.

OK I downloaded TOA but now when I try to buy a CD key from the Europe site it just says ORDER IN PROGRESS but then nothing happens.

I swear to god this is the worse setup for a MMORPG I have ever seen.

Sorry tripod I am not sure whats going on. Are you playing on US or European servers?

I do know that after you install the whole thing you have to catacombs enable it with just the catacombs cd key. The last time I reinstalled them into a new computer I only needed the last expansion CD key to get going.

I am on a US server so I don't know want the deal would be with the European server.

Ok its nice to know some new players are trickling into the Euro version.

I havent played this game since just after TOA so things i say may not be accurate, however i would say that alltho there used to be many problems with the euro version of DAOC subscription i never had a problem with, so i am sorry if your suffering now.

How it used to work is this to play daoc with all the expansions you needed to have the previous expansion as well.(now in english)

you buy daoc and play happily

Expansion 1 comes out you ignore that, your happy enough with the game you have

expansion 2 comes out and has something wizzy you realy want to try, this is where things get tricky you now need to buy expansion 1 as well as 2, and so on.

So it seems you have some of the expansions and not all of them, ok not a disastor, you can order the cdkey from euro website (or at least you used to be able to) and DL the part of the game you want/need.I see from your post you are tryng to do this, the customer service thingies like this in the past were alwasy 2-3 days respnse so i would guess this is how long it will take to process your order.

In the meantime i would suggest getting started as with the origanal and the SI installed you have plenty to be getting on with while you wait for the TOA cdkey to arrive as your characters can be transfered without a problem.

Well the problem lies with TOA. I have installed everything. I have put in the CD key for the regular DAoC which gives you DAoC and Shrouded Isle. Everything fine there. Now I also got Catacombs with my Boxset, but in the most rediculous setup I have ever seen, the publishers did not supply that boxset with Trials of Atlantis. So therefore I am unable to play Catacombs, which is a joke really because it all came in a big black box that said Dark Age of Camelot Catacombs. I have seen companies desperate to get your money before but I think that takes the biscuit.

Anyway, I have downloaded and installed TOA, but I just cannot get a damn CD key from the official site. When i go to the license section of my account and click to order CD key for TOA it just goes to a screen that says ORDER IN PROGRESS and then that's it. Absolutely nothing happens.... at all.

I am just about to give up. It's a shame because it all looks rather good, but I just can't be bothered with such an awful setup.

One other thing... I was able to play DAoC Shrouded Isle, and I chose Midgard. I played for about 30 mins in the newbie area, and I never saw one other player. Not one. Are there many people still playing? Because if I am going to be spending most of the time on my own then that's totally convinced me to just give up and stick to EQ2.

yeah there are probably allot of other people playing depending if you are on a European sever etc. you can type /who [name of zone] or /who [number]

shpould be able to find more people as you level up. It should only take a night to get to level 5 and chose you first higher class. If you playing midgard I would think it might e hard to play a healer up from level 5 becasue they are very group dependant class but any number of other classes can be solale until you get to 20 or so when there are more players leveling.

Used to be able to go to vendo carvrns and hang out there for a group. Catacombs has made it allot easier to solo level so it might not be the same.

RvR in the BGs starts usually around 33-34. Its allot of fun if you can get that far.
