ArcheAge made sure that I will never play a game from that publisher again. Trove could be the best game ever, but I will never know.
For pete's sake jump off that damn bandwagon. It's extremely old. AA was a huge fail but Rift alone has proven to be a great MMORPG. Trove is proving itself as well. Drop the AA crap and forget about it. That's like saying you'll never give FFXIV ARR a chance because the original was terrible. And that would be completely foolish because ARR is great.
If you dont like Rift, Trove, or Defiance, then that's ok. But spare us the AA talk. We get it. It sucked. Now find another reason.
I loved how casual this game was before challenges. Can't seem to enjoy it any more, though. Challenges are just a mad rush to kill as many bosses in a specific area as possible as fast as possible usually with the biggest group possible. Participation isn't mandatory, but if you don't participate, you're at a huge disadvantage because of how profitable challenges were made. It's just not fun to me any longer.
I was playing Trove full time but since the "official" release I haven't been able to stick with it. I was splitting my time between Marvel Heroes and Trove but MH has become my sole main game. I am not sure I can really articulate what happened that made me lose interest.
It's cute, and I play it for maybe an hour or so each month with my son. It seems to have built a decent following so there is definitely something there, though I'm not sure what.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein "Graphics are often supplied by Engines that (some) MMORPG's are built in" - Spuffyre
