Monthly Subscriptions, the only way to go :)

For a true mmo, their is only one payment model....Monthly Subscriptions....No Cash Shop....No Cash Shop.

Why am I saying this here and now ?.....Because I came across something interesting that explains it all.  I'll be posting a link to another up and coming mmo, where you can see their views on subscriptions and their studies behind this topic.  Remember its not about their game but their views and findings.

The Saga of Lucima....Yes, it's another game but they hit the nail about Pay to Play and how its designed for short solo games.

The article even goes deeper into other subjects such as single-player, on-the-rails, spoon-fed content that you can log in and play for five minutes.  It's an all around good insight of what has happened in the last few years.

I think mmo developers are getting wise to the bull crap we've been fed, and are realizing the old fashion way of making an mmo is truly the best.   However newer mmo developers are not necessarily blind to the best way of making an mmo with a Cash Shop if greed is there motivation, to put it more blunt, trickery by having Cash Shops.

I've never spent a dime in a cash shop, and never will..........It's a way of tricking the players !

I've spent about a total of $40 in cash shops (GW2), and alot more in sub costs for other games.  I absolutely loved original EQ, every minute in the 5 years I played.  WoW was also enjoyable for the 2+ years I played.  SWTOR was fun for about 4 of the 6 months I subbed.  I can't see myself subbing to another game, but you never know.

For a true mmo is not about modal, is about not feeling 2nd class when you payed in money thats for all model from wow to arche age. There alot people feel like 2nd class to a game when the dev go like well if don't like it to bad.
