One question, this news is about the national game in the official servers?
If so, it is good idea to start an official server as a new player or is there some other unofficial server where best to play?

This game (with EverQuest) is one of those games I always had the illusion of playing, but I worry about playing alone and not find players who step up and do things together.

As with all games, you will run into the occasional twat.  However, that being said, there are very friendly, helpful players and guilds on all 3 realms.  If you should decide to play, join the forums on postcount.net.  I see posts weekly about guilds looking for new members, either new/old/returning players.

There are also various "how to guides" links on the forums and www.camelotherald.com you may find helpful.  Not many of the current player base visit this site.  I do not even play any more, but figured it is a great game and wanted to offer you the chance of knowing where to go to get the most help.

Love this game, i hope you try it and enjoy it as much as i did.
    Haroo!
