While watching these videos, all I kept thinking was ... "Wow, this looks gorgeous. Nice combat." And then came the revelation that I dont care. While these are all good things I dont think they are enough to keep me playing anymore. I'm mostly excited for no mans sky and the division.
the more I read these posts the more I think to myself "You know what? I support Common Core education. I will be able to walk into any office building at any age and say I want THAT job and be overqualified for it. "
God bless the lowering of the standards of education!
Ugh, a lot if Asian stuff. Is that because Western developers have decided the MMORPG business isn't worth it? Let wow and its parasites have the money, easier to make phone games?
MMORPG players are often like Hobbits: They don't like Adventures

Sounds like you've grown out of chasing gorgeous women and realized you want a mediocre looking but responsible wife who you can actually enjoy living with and talking to for decades
I... can't imagine what it's like to be the OP and be so hyped about so many games at once. I've felt hype for one or two games (always a disappointment but whatever), but wow.
Anyway.. these were all gorgeous but most of these videos were just a display of effects. Hard to get remotely excited about that.
Spec'ing properly is a gateway drug. 12 Million People have been meter spammed in heroics.
GW2 is still my go to MMO. Playing the Elite Specs and Rev will last for a while. Will probably try out SWTOR since their content is geared to solo now. ESO is still nerfing all over the place so still waiting for the dust to settle. All the new stuff coming out is wait and see.

I have yet to play an Asian MMO I would keep playing. Even being a FF fan, I found the translation bad and disjointed. Always waiting money months for the updates and over all feeling like a second rate customer and Customer Service often is even worse then the low standards we have here in NA but I will admit there is a couple on that list I would try for free to see if there is an exception to the rule.

I don't really know how comfortable I am with the insinuation that you can't have a gorgeous AND responsible wife that you can actually enjoy living with and talking to for decades.
This post proves that there's no point making such a post - because everyone has individual tastes. I'm watching No Man's Sky develop, but nothing else whatsoever is likely to stop me playing Destiny, Starcraft 2 (v3), Fallout 4 and Star Wars Battlefront. That lot costs the same as an annual MMO subscription and will give me more enjoyment than any MMO I can think of.
Sorry to disappoint, but Dragon Dogma is P2W, can get virtually any of the best gear of the game via cash shop/gacha (Funny how Gacha sounds like Got'Cha monay). Eastern population might like putting money into a toon, but the Western world, as time as shown us, won't do that well, regardless of how great the combat and gameplay is. And do I read this correctly on their site, the game can be P2P + cash shop? Good luck with that in the Western world.
Revelations, another Eastern game (Why would anyone quit their current MMO for more of the same?)
Difference between Black Dessert and Bless? Besides the name and the fact that you can change in to a lion in Bless ... anything?
The only 2 titles that are worth keeping an eye on are Lost Ark and Lineage Eternal.
Tree of Savior, looks good but the Ragnarok feel, I don't know, just hope it's as good or better than Ragnarok was at it's prime.
Star Citizen will soon be forgotten thanks to Elite: Dangerous next expansion and Star Wars Battlefront releasing in a few days.
The Division, with Black Ops 3 releasing and Destiny still going strong I fail to see the point of this game.
I've said this almost a dozen times in almost a week, and I'll say it once more; You want a people to stay in any of those mentioned games? Make them P2P and stop with the F2P/P2W gimmicks. FF14 : ARR and WoW are doing GREAT, and look at Archeage that was suppose to be P2P but went F2P like a bunch of idiots, it's costing them dearly today.
Over 5mil Subs on WoW and over 2mil on FF14, seriously just make a decent P2P game and people will PAY TO PLAY for "QUALITY". It's unbelievable how many Eastern MMOs get released a year for the past 5-6 years and ALL of them have become ghost servers with barely no one playing them. So don't ask yourselves why WoW is still going strong, and the ONLY reason why WoW is "losing" people at the moment is the fact that Fallout 4 is out, Battlefront and Black Ops 3 are coming, so once they get tired and finish up those games, WoW will once again be back to 10mil+ Subs. You're really kidding yourselves if you think for a moment that people leave their current P2P MMO to play Copy/Paste P2W Eastern titles.
If Lineage Eternal follows the same suit as Lineage 1, it will be my next MMO for the next 10 years. But if they pussify the game to catter casuals, I'm out. You can't please both hardcore and casual players at the same time.
Out of all that, No Man's Sky is the only one that interests me in that list, also Chronicles of Elyria... but not sure why you slugged it on the same line as Peria Chronicles. Aside from sharing a word in their title, majorly different game play designs.
I like E:D to the point I've forgotten why I even backed Star Citizen... wonder if I can refund my pre-purchase, that's how much I care for it now.

Well I have been interested in 4 out of your 10 (Hint,..not the Asian ones). I'm used to disagreeing completely with most peoples top 10. I'm surprised here.
The only two titles I had interest in that I expected to release some time in 2016 (or at least a solid closed/open beta) were EverQuest Next and The Repopulation and both titles are in a bit of turmoil now. EQN fell to the wayside of Landmark early on and ever since the SOE buyout I haven't seen any news on either game. The Repopulation was interesting in alpha (despite the sort of bland IP and visual style) but who knows what will happen with the Hero mess it's in right now. I love both studios--SOE/DGB had some piss poor leadership but it's a lot of the same people who made EQ1/2, SWG, etc. and you have to admire an indie company like ABT that was able to do so much with such a mess of an engine like Hero. I hope both will turn their predicaments around and produce the game they really want to.
On my list for 2017 is Revival. It's my last holdout MMO. If half of what they've conceptualized makes it into the final product it'll likely be the apex of online gaming.
Heck, why not a Sherlock Holmes MMO where players play private detectives, policemen and master criminals in the late 19th century? Solving or getting away with crimes, that would be different and fun.
Because players won't spend time & energy to set up interesting crime to solve. And if you have professional devs doing that, you may as well just do an adventure game (like Crime & Punishment). There is little reason to do it as a MMO.
the more I read these posts the more I think to myself "You know what? I support Common Core education. I will be able to walk into any office building at any age and say I want THAT job and be overqualified for it. "
It seems in 40 years when I'll be old, we'll be respecting our elders again. because our way of life will be impossible without them.
The question though is if most people actually are that stupid or if the game devs and some people just assumes that.
My experience in pen and paper roleplaying (usually Shadowrun) is that when I get a bunch of fresh players they all run around and do stupid things but once they get that it wont work they try thinking and planning, and most of the players comes afterwards and say they never had that fun in a P&P game before since they are all used to hacking and slashing basic dungeons with no puzzles and few traps. I like to set them up with real world blueprints of buildings and information of the people working in the place and then they make their plan themselves.
Young people aren't stupid unless you treat them like they are. Give them a chance to use their brain and most of them will try it. If we feed them just stupid things we will just have people who grow up to become janitors (well, on the plus side will things at least be very clean).
Brain-dead games can be fun but games that let you use your wits have a very different staying power, those are the games that hook people for long. I think there actually would be a market for a few MMOs and/or CORPGs like that. Then again, I could be wrong, maybe the majority of people really are stupid...
Had my eye on Bless a while ago but lets be honest Korean f2p games are ALWAYS the same and just very shallow in general,i cannot see me investing anytime at all in one of those.
The Division yes i will be playing that game for certain. No man's sky and Shards Online were two i had originally thought i might be playing but looking ahead i already have my lineup of games mapped out so i don't think i have any time for anymore on that list other than The Division.
