A question regarding the big update.

For the last six months the Pantheon devs have been telling players to be patient regarding updates to the game.  We have been told they're focusing on quality instead of quantity and to expect a substantial update late September, early October.  For many and myself the impression we got was a new video update of gameplay and the progress the team has made on the game.

I'm slightly worried the new website is the big update and we are not going to get a video of gameplay footage etc due to reading other forums etc.  The new website is looking great but does have a few rough edges but surely this cannot be the big update the devs have been going on about over the last few months.

I want to stay positive regarding the game and not feel Pantheon's team have been over hyping the expectations of the big update.  I know the team read these boards, so hopefully one of them will be able to inform me/us regarding any news of the big update or confirm the website is the update.

I believe the website update was the big update.  It included all the race/class information as well as a good amount of details in the FAQ.  Did you read everything or are you just waiting for a screen shot/video?  This game still has a long way to go... so I've done myself a favor and tempered my expectations for updates, game play footage, etc.  It'll happen in due time.  Also... I think they will be speaking at some upcoming conferences so maybe there will be some additional details then.

I think you're right; I need to keep my expectations low when it's regarding this game.  I just was expecting more.  Since the last video update (Feb/March time) when other posters on this site asked regarding updates (video) the team the majority of the time kept repeating hopefully we will have something to show at the end of September.  Due to this I was expecting a video update and not just a website relaunch, but hey ho life is full of little disappointments.

The update was the new website, the tons of new info therein, new screenshots, plus our press release re: receiving our first round of seed funding.  We will continue to update the website and can do so more easily now.  That said, we're still some time away from release, and we don't want to post too much information, too early.

We do want to do a new video in the next few months -- we realize it's been a while, but please also understand they take a lot of work and we are a lean and mean team.  Work put into a video means work not being done on the game itself, so we have to keep that in mind and in balance.

Thank you for you response Brad.  I appreciate the work you guy's are doing and understand the difficulties in managing your work load and limited resources.  I enjoyed visiting the new website. 

It appears I allowed my own expectations to get the better of me and assumed the update was going to be a video. I'm at fault for jumping to conclusions and will manage my expectations better in the future.

I'll be looking forward to your next update (hopefully a video ) and wish you the best for the future.
