I just want to say, as much as people think these fourms are bad, look at these response I got on steam haha, one reasonable post to the same question.
I personally have an Asus Strix 970 and with some fiddling of just settings I can run at 60fps (no launch options though I might start using the allcores one) most everything is on epic or high except ground clutter and shadows... The game still looks wonderful ( if not blinding without the bloom and lightshafts turned down) I'll post a few pictures and my settings once I get home in an hour or so.
I would be happy I got a really nice framerate in an un optimised game? The 18-30 fps "when running around" is due to new terrain and dinos being loaded in front of you and has little to do with your graphics card.
BTW the 15 day period is for returning faulty, or mis-described goods, not for you to abuse because you think you can do a bit better, or are sufffering buyers remourse.
BTW2 overclocking will bearly change your framerate, shortens the life of your card, uses more power, and will invalidate your warrenty. It's pretty much a cynical marketing trick to ensure you need to buy a new card before its natural lifespan is complete.
Well, i took it back, and got the 970 gtx, I will let you know which one works better. The gtx gets better frame rates in ark, than the 390 over clocked, with the 390 using 350 watts. It also gets better in heaven. I usually am team red, but the 390 is a let down. The 970 is a better card for 1080 gaming.
