I try Black Desert for the first time now during ALPHA I must have spent more than 80 hours playing the game for a week, I write my feedback already in ALPHA forum so I don't plan to repeat every single thing I wrote there, what I want to write instead is about the big things, those that matter the most, the game have the foundation to become the game I was dreaming to play someday & never came out till now, the graphics is stunning, the way the world is designed is amazing so real full of detail truly unparalleled compare to everything else I have play before, the combat & skills is truly addictive, I love killing mobs with my character on this game, I love the skills, the way they look, the animations, the effects, all have impact, it makes you exciting to cast them again & again, I love all the various sub-systems the game have like the node system were we open paths for our workers by connecting nodes in the map to send them gather stuff for us, like the amity system, processing & everything else, I don't know about anyone else but for me it have all the basics I was searching for & the only thing left to become the game I was always dreaming to play someday is the final tweaking DAUM is going to make when game launch in EU/NA & it seems from some interviews I read recently they don't intend to listen our suggestions although we all agree more or less that some stuff must change definitely if they want the game to succeed, some of those things is:
1. The most important thing they must do if they want the game to succeed is to recreate the addictive PvP environment Lineage II had in the old chronicles, for that to happen a number of things must change such as:
a) No channels, an OW-PvP game can't succeed when enemies & potential targets hide & jump from one channel to the next to avoid fighting, if L2 had channels back then it wouldn't be the amazing or so addictive game that everyone regard to this day as the best OW-PvP MMORPG ever.
b) Guild declaration must be an easy & without restriction process, I read how it works currently & I didn't like it at all, I believe if they don't make changes they will limit GvG in the game, in L2 you didn't have to pay in order to declare war to another clan but if they must put some declaration cost for some reason it must be a small 1-time fee without further upkeep cost in case the guild you declare doesn't accept back, also the war must not have a time limit it must last for as long the guild/guild leader want to last & it must end only if one side decide to end it, & something last I read that there is a limit on how many guilds you can have war at the same time, if that's true it must be changed, there is no reason for a restriction of this kind to exist let us have war with as many guilds we want.
c) PK had in ALPHA so harsh punishment that it make it kind of pointless to exist in the game as no one gonna try to PK someone if they know that they must grind mobs for 3 to 5 hours after to remove all this karma, this must change PK must become more viable it must have place in the game as it is also a way to promote OW-PvP lot's of great & crazy battles in L2 started from a single PK, make the punishment more reasonable & let people PK each other if they want to, don't scare them away & remove one of the ways they can have fun & create some drama & make things in the server more interesting & exciting because sometimes it's better for something to happen even if it is frustrating for some than never ever nothing interesting happen.
2. The game lack atm PvE that leads to PvP & the opposite, L2 was full of such examples like EPIC bosses that drop the best items in the game, clans w8ed on spawn places hours before a boss of this kind spawn & this always led the strongest clans to fight each other & every fight for an EPIC boss was very important as the clan who won the chance to fight the boss in the end could earn drops that will make their clan stronger over all in the server, BD need various bosses with rare drops that will make guilds fight all over the map for them, not only world bosses that need a crazy number of players to kill I would like to see lot's of smaller bosses (RB) designed for 1-party & lot's of them & not only for high levels for all kind of levels, they could also put some bosses that we need to kill in order to finish some important quest like Barakiel in L2 for example many crazy fights happen there through the years.
3. DAUM must take all the necessary measures to avoid turn this game into another p2w game, I was supporting trading of cash shop items but some stuff I saw the last days open my eyes & make me change my mind, I saw photos from the Rus server that is 2 weeks old with players that have full +15 gear & as you understand crazy stats, this based on what I have read from people who play in the Kor servers is something you can do only if you play at least 3 months & some people did it by selling costumes & pets in less than 2 weeks, this must not be allowed in the EU/NA server else OW-PvP will be ruined with this OP p2w characters running around & killing everyone with no much effort at all, about normal trade this is something imo that it must exist in an MMORPG I don't know how they can do it but they must find a way to let us trade our stuff with our friends/guild mates if we want, this is something that must exist even with some restrictions.
4. DAUM implement the much-hated feature of energy ArcheAge have, there it's called Labor here it's called Vigor it's the same exact thing you need it for pretty much anything, for craft, for gathering, for processing, to increase amity with some NPCs, for Fishing, for anything more or less even to read & accept some quests, now it might be much lighter in BD because it regenerate every 3 minutes much faster than AA & also here every gathering & crafting you do cost always 1 compare to AA which was not that way, I read that when you rest in a bed in your house you regenerate twice as much so that's good I guess but what is not good is that our Vigor doesn't regenerate when we are offline now that's not good & it must change because most of the times we are going to spent all our Vigor before we log off & it's not good to log in the next day & start the day with 0 Vigor, Vigor must regenerate when we are offline we can't let our PC & client open to regenerate Vigor when we stop playing, don't make us do something like that because no one is gonna like it.

Sorry my english try to understand plz.
This game advertised as a next-gen L2 kind of you know, as they told us when it was still in early development stage that it will be an open world PvP/PK game with guild wars & castle sieges in a seamless world without loading screens, exactly like L2 & that's why there is so many ex-L2 players who want so bad to play it as there is no other game like L2 currently in the market worth playing.
"or why when i near to kill a boss a gigant Guild come and stole it hitting the last hit to kill."
That's a part of an open world PvP MMORPG the strongest/most organized/better prepared guild deserve to get the drops, simple as that.
"Maybe you have to say why they dont open pvp and pve servers, then pvp´s have his server to play and pve ppl have their server..."
Nop I'm against something like that like they were almost everyone in the ALPHA forum, different type of servers are going to split the community no reason to put all the PvErs in one servers as this game was made with PvP in mind what PvErs are gonna do in a game without PvE content? no reason for something like that if you are not interested at all for PvP then this game is obviously not for you.
"I played L2 and dont understand why you have to wait at the door of the dungeon of Barakiel watting to open..."
There is no door you must w8 to open in order to fight Barakiel this RB located in Valley of Saints area & it's out in the open.
"What happens if i dont want pvp ? what happen if i want to farm and kill mobs and have a not fightting life in game ?"
Then I suggest you to find a PvE-centric MMORPG to play, BD was not made for PvE-only players & there is no PvE content to do anyway, there is no instants & crazy dungeons to farm non stop like WoW you won't find something like that here & all bosses are going to be out in the open & guilds must fight in order to kill them, every fight is going to be like that so without PvP there is no PvE.
"i ask, why you want to be free of karma so quickly ? maybe you not, but im sure the most of the pvp ppl want it to go and kill another low lvl or poor lvl equip."
PK is part of the game from the moment they put it in the game they must allow us to use it, not forbid it by implement super-harsh punishments, & PK can lead to PvP/Mass PvP & GvG so it must be encouraged for me without drama there is no interest & everything become stale & boring.
Btw I just now remembered 2 more things I didn't write & it's both very important so I will write them here:
5. All bosses small, big, huge must be in a non-instant area were players can intervene & fight for them not inside instants were those who enter first fight them without anyone be able to interrupt them/kill them & steal the boss.
6. Black Desert during CBT2 as I heard had the L2 flagging system which they remove later on for some reason, players in ALPHA forum asked to put it back as it's the best flag system on any MMORPG & countless games have copy it already, there is no reason to change that & try to make something better as it is perfect already & can't make something perfect better no matter how hard you try what will happen in the end is that you most likely ruin it.
I don't like a lot of your changes. It seems like it would just lead to zerg guilds controlling everything, kind of like what happened in Archeage.
I also don't expect them to make so many changes to the core version of the game just for our release.
The most I expect is changing the cash shop items to be non-tradable (which I'm hoping for).
But I do not expect this game to be the next L2. It's its own thing and it doesn't have to be the same as that game to be good.
I say: Ultima Online, Asherons Call and Dark Age of Camelot disagree
What say you?
I'm fairly certain this sort of thing didn't come about until much later in MMO history. I know EQ didn't have it. WoW Didn't even have it. AoC was my first experience with it, Tera's was annoying because you could see your party members on the map even if they were in a different instance.
i think daoc had the best pvp ever. too bad there aren't mmo like that anymore.
To a degree. If this game was originally marketed as a PVP centric game then I understand completely. I would add that having PVP with no consequences is probably a bad idea, simply because you would probably never get anything done. I'm not sure how they did things in older games, but the way things work now is you get camped a lot. Just seems to take the fun out of even PVP. I do agree however that if it is a pvp game then just focus on that really and forget pve or a reduced portion of it. Just think there needs to be rules in place to account for stupid people.
Also PVP is nice I don't think it would sustain a game long term. I'm sure I am wrong though, but perhaps at the least have a class that can chase down arrest and kill players that are abusing the system. I guess the only really downside to PVP is it is left up to the players and it always seems to boil down to the least common denominator and in this instance without any rules or punishments players are just going to mess up the system and then people are going to leave and then there is no game.

im afraid that you are totally right. that is one of the reason i dont find pvp niche games that alluring anymore. i did play l2 and even though back then, pking was something that happened frequently. the community was way better than what it is today.
honor and moral values are near to none existant today in mmo. this seems to be more common in open world centric pvp games.
there is nothing more annoying that getting your time ruined by someone else just cause they feel like doing so.
seperate pvp, pve servers would be the ideal. but since i don't think that is going to happen anytime son. harsh pking penalities to discourage bullies would solve the problem.
in Archeage leveling became nearly imposible since you had someone 20 levels higher than you one shooting you every 5 minutes. one of the main reasons i quit. that and hacking exploits happening day and night.
Those came inn later and those were pretty expensive and they could be interrupted and,
it meant you had to give up your hunting ground.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Gankers want everything to be about how they are better than other people and desperately need venues to prove it. It's sad really.
