Tree of Life or Albion Online?

JaldrenJaldren Member UncommonPosts: 363

Just looking for one with the deepest / most varied crafting mechanics. PvE content is a plus and PvP is a minus. Dislike griefers that can destroy everything and love to almost exclusively harvest and/or craft. NPC quests and objectives are a huge plus.

Which is more for me and why?

Thanks

I would say tree of life. Albion online is a pvp + crafting focused game. There will be alot of zergs and griefers in albion I can guarantee you that. I think if you looking for PVE contents, tree of life would be a better choice.

I love both games, however it sounds like Albion may be more for you.  Tree of Life doesn't even have npcs or quests if I recall (haven't played in a while waiting for the new map/wipe).   Also I think Albion has way more in the works in terms of PvE content.  I didn't really experience much PvE to speak of playing Tree of Life.  Griefers destroying things were a problem in Tree of Life as well, although I spent much of my time building and helping out a larger clan.

Tree of life simply because the head of the company doing Albion Online gains his industry experience from running a failed poker site........

    in Tree of Life,
They pretty much patched out PvP like a month after the game opened up. Well they made it to the point were going red (PvP) was so determential u can loose days of leveling in one death then another day the moment u die respawning naked still red till ur back at the start again.
PvE is also incredably bland in it when i was playing it before they literaly patched out PvP, dunno what its like currently though.

Is Albion Online the successor to WAR/DAoC or is that Camelot Unchained?

Albion was originally stated by the developers themselves to be the second coming of UO. However, since selling founder packs and letting the community change their overall goal, they are now a standard MMO with some open PvP areas. They have even removed the references to UO from the site to reflect this.

Albion Online = Mish mash of mods. Tons of instances (fairly small too), private dungeons and huge safe zones. The only thing that has me even remotely interested is playing on all my devices.

PS; I am one of those suckers who bought in early when they were advertising the original Albion Online. I never do that, but I was so desperate for another game that had open pvp and freedom. Shame on me ;)

Tree of savior is rush , not good . Unless they do something about all the bugs , open beta at December is suicide action .

As I recall from your other post you are looking for released products only so that automatically shoves Ao out and you will have plenty of time to test ToS upon open beta.

To me, ToS is an awesome casual game with just the right amount of grinding. It's more of a traditional MMO. To be fair, it's kind of bias for me since I'm a huge RO fan.

The graphics and game play is just too nostalgic for me not to pick it over Albion.

Albion Online stole my idea I've had for years. Making farming and crafting build everything and everything you have is something that's crafted. Half the players only want to be farmers. They should of expanded that to all structures, roads, everything. PvE elements should be randomly spawned and moving and getting rid of a goblin camp that is attacking town should be an everyday thing for adventurer players

An MMO game I created, solo. It's live now and absolutely free to play!

I have not played Albion Online, but I have played in the beta for Tree of Life, and can tell you that crafting basically doesn't exist in it. It technically has recipes and item you put together using materials, however the recipes are 1-time use. So basically it's the same as just finding a weapon drop.

Hence I can't recommend Tree of Life if it's crafting your interested in, it's a relatively fun game, but definitely not for crafters.

To find an intelligent person in a PUG is not that rare, but to find a PUG made up of "all" intelligent people is one of the rarest phenomenons in the known universe.
