Log in for every anniversary of WoW. Each year will give you a FoS one day. Make sure to finish off grinding the Zandalari rep to exalted, you only need 3k more rep, it'll give you a FoS one day. I know your guild disbanded a few months before Burning Crusade came out, but don't quit. There will be an Opening of the Dark portal event that will be a FoS one day, you don't wanna miss it.
Getting your first mount at 40 isn't going to make the game any better. Stop saving your gold, cancel your subscription and uninstall.

Get out now before: A) you invest a stupid amount of time in this game and B ) they fuck it up patch after patch unti it's just a rep grind, something they expressly said they would not do when it was in development. and C) they dumb it down each expansion to the point where none of your choices matter becasue the game is so simple now you can play it blindfolded, with ear plugs in and wearing welding gloves.

While you abandoned FF11 because of playing it way too much, you apparently didn't learn your lesson when you switched over to WoW during the ZulGurub expansion. Quit now and join the gym and tag girls left in right instead of on the screen.
Do everything in your power to get you wife's addiction to the stupid game under control. Make her see that her daughter and job are FAR more important. Show her that this the game is not the social action she is looking for by abandoning her RL friends. Then uninstall it some more, Block the common IP's so that the game never runs right and live with the minor internet glitches.

The friends you meet along the way in your first few days playing in Mulgore are keepers. They'll remain on your friends list and will be members of your raid group for 10 years. Don't delete your Discipline Priest with the Hand of Adal title. And here's a tip I got from me 10 years in my future. Enjoy it while you can because it won't last forever.
Get in earlier on your plan for World Domination via Auction House. While you had some success, it would have been far easier if you'd started manipulating the markets way back in Vanilla.
