The "Quest Hub" (help this Village) is in every game. Here is the good thing, you do not have to do them beyond your own main line. I bypassed 3 "hubs" by accident. However I'm a completionist, so Here I am making sure all my markings are cleared. (you know how I play basically ALL my Fallout/ES games) Most games have the ability to NOT do quest hubs. (so long as you follow the main story arc)
Play what you Like. I like SWOTR, Have a referral to get you going! --> http://www.swtor.com/r/nBndbs <-- Several Unlocks and a few days game time to make the F2P considerably easier
Mhhhhh you are saying that you don't know what your doing, that means they are scrapped the quest hubs? Because if they havent then it is pretty easy to understand what to do. Go to village one, complete all quests, then move a bit south and move to village 2, complete all quest, rinse and repeat until you get to level cap. That's the reason why I quit it basically.
So if you are saying they have scrapped the quest hubs, I will be more than happy to give it another go. But I am pretty confident they didn't.
Its an mmo made for consoles. Bethesda as a company is moving to all console platform. They will port to PC for the extra money but that's it. You need to look for an mmo made for PC these days. And the download is truly the worse i've ever had to deal with. Most mmo's might take a little over and hour tops. ESO takes more than 4 hours. This is BS and i don't care what fanboys say.
For some unknown unreason ESO downloaded a completely separate copy of the game after switching between EU and US server. The weirdest part is that the game looked identical on both servers. There is only one uninstall folder and it's not clear whether it uninstalls the whole pile of 83.4 gb or just a copy for one of the servers.
I never pay much attention to first time posters, but what I will say is that ESO is no better or worse than any other mainstream title when it comes to downloads and stability.
I have never had any problems with stability or frame rate in ESO.
I get 60 fps locked wherever I roam in that game its by far one of the most fluid and well coded games for sure. It has to be something else if people have crashes or frame rate issues, I have never even crashed in the game.

Yes i think about 10-12 years of various mmo's helps me understand the game what i meant is that i haven't got a clue about the builds , styles etc, i have never really played an skyrim game before so have no idea about the way guilds work, heck was only 4th day when i found out you cannot sell things on AHs etc unless you in a guild, but then how do i find a guild and how do i know where they can sell
So yes i can get from 1-999 levels no problems, but dont have a clue about the finer points of the game, for instance how can i see what recipies i can get / can use, how do i learn more complex things to make etc... (yes i understand the very basic of production, but the more serious stuff i have no idea)
so you see what i say i dont know what im doing its more about the in-depth stuff, im not a player who cares about maxing my level as quick as, first time i play any game i take my time levelling up, getting to know the basics of gameplay
When in guild you access guild store at any bank or stall if you get one.
Tailor, wood, and blacksmith recipes are all known. You just have to research the special attributes by getting a piece of armor with that property and researching it. That destroys item and you need to do it with one of each piece of armor or weapons.
Alchemy is blind creation unless you use websites to show combos.
Cooking is from found or bought recipes. You can get add on to show you cookbook or use the annoying in game ui when at a cooking fire.
There is something about this game that interests me. But at the same time, I am struggling to play it. I can't quite put my finger on it. Unlike Wildstar where I knew immediately, the game was a turd, This game does want to pull me in, but isn't.
Part of it is the UI. It's unwieldy as hell. But there is something else. It feels off to me. I wish I could ID it too. Because if I could, I might be able to get past what turns me off 10 minutes after I log in.
I purchased the game through Steam, and yes it took an awful long time to download and install, but its over 30GB of game and patches and updates.
As for me, I just bought this a week ago. I have been playing various MMO/RPGs for decades, including MUDs. Played WOW on launch day (only played for a month). Have played some various free games. I have only been playing for a week, and I have heard horror stories about the original launch, but I have to say I really like ESO. I do not think it really brings anything unique to the genre, but what it does it does well and the main story and side stories seem interesting. For $20 I think it is worth a try.

You got that backwards champ. It was ported to console from PC...
As someone mentioned above: This clearly feels like a console game. I am a PC gamer and have no interested in console gaming. I would love to support an MMO that is a dedicated PC game.
Best AAA MMO on the market. Incredible amount of PvE content and the PvP content is just damn fun. Played at launch for 90 days and then stopped. Went back last December as my main game and haven't left since. Still haven't accomplished everything I want to on my main character and more content coming every 90 days.

Wait what? In what way does it feel console? Compared to other mmo's.
I like ESO (Not hardcore but enough). I like mmorpg's. This one does not feel console at all.
It's as console as any ES game. The thing people have problems with are simple put...they can't manipulate objects.
Otherwise it plays like a version of oblivion with a hotbar.
I guess folks just like putting rag dolls in weird positions with nude patches or some garbage because it feels as ESO* as possible with thousands of players playing at one single time.
As for the OP's dl.
You didn't turn your firewall off. I know you didn't because my buddy had this same problem and we found he had derped on ports.
You def derped. The game dl's in like 3 hours for me via steam and patches in a hour. My computer and connection can be considered garbage so...
Didn't care for the beta, but decided to try out this trial and have to say it's much more polished and more enjoyable than the beta was which imo was a terrible and a poor representation and I had no desire to spend $59.99 on the game plus $15 a month sub, but now i'm quite tempted with this B2P and more polished game.
It surprisingly feels more like and Elder Scrolls game than it did originally and I feel it's a solid product and worth playing at this point and one of the better MMO's out there "at this point".
This was made more for PC, on consoles there is no text chat even though they had it in beta but decided to take it out. So you have to use headphones to talk to people. Lot of people hate it because of others swearing playing loud music, so you tend to have to ignore those people. On PC the game is much nicer due to all the addon developers that made addons for the game. Makes the chat and mail much better unlike the default that Zenimax put in. The AH where you can join 5 guilds and scan their guild AH. Without the addons the AH is really a pain so I feel sorry for those on consoles. It still is a pain running around and checking guild AH's in certain areas they have to rent from Zenimax.
But still saying all that the game at least to me is more fun on the PC than consoles, but am sure a lot of others love it on consoles.

Yeah, i'm gonna go ahead and disagree there mmmkay?
One look at the graphics in this game tells a completely different story. The character models are overly simplistic, the zones are small, the terrain geometry is way behind even 2 year old mmo's. Absolutely everything about the graphics design screams console. The fact that it basically looks identical minus some AA and AF on consoles only reinforces that. ESO is quite possibly one of the ugliest MMO's released in quite awhile.
Don't fool yourself that because the PC version came out first it was designed for PC's. PC players just got to beta test for the consoles.

except that isn't true LOL
no it isn't like the old wow quest hub, there are tons of quests you find out in the world that are not a part of any hub. people that complain about this seem like they are just sick of questing in general, which i totally get.

Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box. ~ Italian proverb
I'm still loving it personally.
I left the download over night and it the morning had a PLAY button, but when I got home from work it had to reinstall the whole damn game
My connection is 105 MB/s yet the game downloads at 4 - 10 MB/s... wtF
By the time the damn game downloads the free trial will be over
The OP hit the nail on the head with the title and content... not impressed!
