The first set of drivers for Crimson seem to be a step back. It reintroduces a bug with ScaleForm UI elements where they don't have the correct transparency.

Crimson is garbage, ALL of my newer games that used to run flawlessly (AC: Syndicate, Arkham Knight, etc) keeps on crashing after I installed this garbage.

That is the reason years ago why to stay away from AMD were the drivers and i doubt they get it right still to this day.

I learned over the years,i tried the competition but always came away disappointed,i learned to just use Intel Cpu and Nvidia gpu.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

The only non-cosmetic driver difference that I noticed from Crimson is that now I have more options on the monitor resolution.

I bought the R9 380 also and once I figured out that to get it working I had to update my bios and re-scale my resolution I have had no problems---so far---I was thinking of the 970 but for twice the price I did not think it would be worth it

I dont like all the bloated software, but I prefer the crimson package over the CCC.  I have had 4 different Vid cards.  ATI 9700 pro, an nvidia (i forget what it was, but it was a low end one), an AMD HD 6570, and now I have an AMD R9 270x.  The Nvidia card I had was garbage.  I went though 2 of them due to the fans dying.  The 9700 pro was an amazing card and lasted me several years.  The fan died one day then I put a new heat sink with heat pipes and it was still going strong, just was outdated by then.  The 6570 is a very low end AMD card, but it performed admirably in my system.  I could play games at 1080 with mostly medium settings.  The R9 270x is obviously a huge step up but so far have not had any problems or complaints.   I dont have a problem with either company just try to get the best bang for the buck.

I do think AMD has gone downhill as far as drivers though.  They used to rule nvidia in that part with monthly driver releases.  Now we are lucky if they are every 4 months.
