whats a good gaming mouse with more buttons than Razer?

MMOExposedMMOExposed Member RarePosts: 7,400
My current razer mouse has 12 side buttons, and along side 2 normal mouse buttons, has 2 additional on near left click, and mouse wheel button.

Problem is this mouse has broken down so badly. I want a god replacement. I like having more buttons rather than less. so any good mouses out there you suggest?

The new Razers have even more buttons now, mouse wheel alone has 3 clicks. Left, right and down press.

The Naga has 19 buttons not sure you can beat that...I had a Naga and could not use it properly kept hitting the wrong buttons on the side.  I was thinking about trying the HEX but I hate Razer's software.  I recently bought a SteelSeries Rival and love it, but it does not have the buttons you are looking for.

Mice have had those clicks on the mouse wheel since the dawn of time, I honestly can't remember ever having a mouse that didn't do that lol.

+1 for the G600, it does only have 12 thumb buttons like the Razer but the G-shift function doubles them up.

Yah, these are quality products. I just replaced my last one this week after 4 years of use, and they cost 1/2 what the razers do.

Kabaal Nanfoodle is not talking about left and right mouse clicks he is talking about the side push of the center mouse button to the left and right which gives two more keys.

Logitech is your best bet OP

Thanks this is helpful. only thing I dont like it the location of the 2 mouse buttons near the wheel. But the ring finger rest is also a button correct?

Yeah. The two near the wheel mess with speed on mine though, so you might be able to still program them to do other things.

I have used both Razer Naga and Logitech G600, I would recommend Logitech G600 over Razer Naga anyday. The shape of the mouse fit my hand better than Naga where it required me to put my hand in a claw grip position. Button feel softer to press. Just more comfortable for me to use overall.

I've had 2 Razer Naga mouse wheel buttons fail. The first one lasted about 2 years. The second lasted about 1 year. I went to Logitech G600 and haven't had any issues in the 2 years since.  The Logitech side buttons also have angled faces that make it easier to determine what physical column your thumb is on.

I feel both brands are too narrow. I also feel that all mouses are made too flat. I want to see a gaming mouse like a Logitech G600 or Razer Naga with about a 10-15 degree greater slope from left to right. This would allow my wrist to stay at a more natural angle.

Look into RedDragon on Amazon, very cost effective but high quality. I use the M901 and love it.

You may want to look into a razer key pad, with this u can run any micro possible and use it for any game.

like I run a 30 button one for sto. to micro attacks that are mouse clicks a razer keyboard works wonders after u set up your timming like for skyforge etc.

The Logitech G600 people linked in the pictures, is a good MMO mouse.

It is heavy and its side shift button (see pic) is very clumsy and I never use that button.

Once I got used to the mouse, I like it. In the beginning I never thought I would remember all those buttons, but you do eventually, I use all except the 3 farthest ones.

I wish they made a G600 without the side button, it makes the mouse kinda wide.

I have dropped my Logitech keyboard and mouse so many times, it doesn't break. Reason I stick with logitech.

I love the design of some Roccat mice, but I can't afford that they break after every drop, my Logitch G600 has maybe dropped 40 times now, it has never broken.

I started with Razor and then went to the G600. I love the mouse, but every single one (4 Wife and I both game) have fallen victim to a somewhat common problem of it double clicking when you try to single left click. This is a hardware issue. That said, I 100% still recommend them because the company stands behind their product and has an incredible warranty. Each one of my malfunctioning products have been replaced.

The extra space for to the right side is primarily a rest for the ring finger and not for a button. For instance i cant use mice who do not have this extra width anymore, because my pinkydrags too much on the mouse mat and my hand hurts overall after long hours without this extra rest.

I bought that Red Dragon mouse because it was cheap but have not used it yet. Good to hear it is a good mouse.

How do you even hit these buttons individually. No one can tell me that this is an improvement unless you just want to spam all skills hoping something will land.

Practice my dear you can do it without looking no mistakes even after time, muscle memory. I found it such a boon in action games when you need to hit skills fast. I could never do the keyboard number thing but with this I can play without looking at my skills at all .

For the love of ergonomics, will someone please create a trackball mouse with this many buttons!?!?

I don't use a trackball mouse often, but I know people who do. The question I'd have is do they have the real estate for a cluster of buttons? Not the physical real estate (since they're normally pretty large) but the real estate to make it ergonomic still.

Can't do it, my male thumb is just too big and uncoordinated. I can barely deal with the 2 buttons on my regular mouse.

Tap it with the corner of the thumb don't use the whole pad of the thumb. Just press one side of it and use it to feel about .It takes about a week of using it for you to get the direction to hit a button exactly. I swear once you get this you will never use the normal mouse ever again.

Like Cheyane said, you eventually learn all the places of the buttons. Note the inclinations. After a while you know exactly where every button is.

I use this mouse for everything, not just gaming. Copy / paste...zoom in / out...sound lower / sound higher..close tab / next tab, ... I mapped several functions to the buttons.  (note that these are all antonym type functions, dual functions, it helps if you put some order into your button layout)

I can't imagine still using a keyboard button to change my sound volume, it's all tied to the mouse, it happens instantly now. When I game, I just switch to the gaming profile with one click.

You have a really hard time going back to a regular mouse. The buttons just make it very powerful and make you much more productive.

It also helps that the Logitech software is fantastic, you can record macros for every button.

I also have a gaming keypad, a G13, and while it's really good, and I love it. It is clumsier than a gaming mouse, since you often want to type on your keyboard, which requires switching from keypad to keyboard.

The buttons in the pink area, are easy to reach. The 3 farthest, I find harder to reach.
