FFXIII: Lightning Returns?

The PC version just released and seeing as how I liked 13 I decided to give this a shot. And holy crap, I'm only a few minutes in, and I already hate it. Does anyone know if the game gets better later? So far the combat is less than mediocre and the story is a terrible. But because I like FF, and there aren't many RPGs out, I feel obligated to tough through it, in the hopes it will improve. So far, the only good point is the graphics. Which are freaking phenomenal. Has anyone here played it?

Keep playing. It will probably get better. Did they ever get around to fixing that camera?

I played it on ps3 when it first came out and liked it. The graphics and music especially were really fantastic. The combat gets more depth to it as go through the game and unlock more options. You're not really exposed to much a few minutes in.

I don't remember the whole story arc but I never would have imagined it to turn out this way after the first one. It would probably help to know what happened in XIII-2. But it's worth continuing I think, if for nothing else than to see the other areas and hear the fantastic soundtrack.

Thanks, I am a couple hours into the first one. Put it down and have not picked it back up despite having all 3. I should go ahead and finish it sometime.

Thanks. I'll stick with it for a while longer but I cant guarantee I'll finish. This was a massive step down from 13.

serious put? FF13 was even worse then ff12 they really did worse then before, truth be told any after teh main game they made was crap, X-2 was weak (even worse was they changed the blitz ball, I find the blitz ball from ffX the best mini game they made), ff12 was a simple a MMO single player lol, lack teh char development and a lot of combat, worse was to hunt for the game bosses so mostly we would skip it, plus it had low chances of drops, then they made ff13, after the combat concentrate game they try and make a female cloud (they even give her the cloud clothes now lol, btw X-2 again?.....) and concentrate on story with is weak and lack any memorable moment you just remember the annoying kid crying for revenge and even that he fails, also you don't need to care for combat at all the auto combat is there, they make the 13-2 and............ that is all to it, the new one is more action oriented but still keep you locked so it become something like try to burst the enemy with weakness to kill him fast, remove the combat and you have the game all over again in rails.

that is the point the ff13 was a really lack of everything you like on the others ff, they really should leave the ff7 shadow not trying to make a remake with in all means we still need to see how well will be the combat, and if they will or not remove the materia system.... though i'm not hoping they will score this one square lately are not living up to what it was during snes and ps1 time
FOR HONOR, FOR FREEDOM.... and for some money.
