Tried it in beta and found it to be ok. Music was really good though.

I played in the CBT and loved it. It has all the features of a major MMO. I think the reason no one else is talking about it is because it does not really offer anything that most other MMOs have already do or have done. Yet for some reason I just really loved it. I plan on playing once it comes back and enters open beta this month. I just like the graphics, the music and sound, the classes and races and the questing. Oh and the mounts are great. Really fun game and my surprise game for the year last year.
I noticed you had played beta, I missed it because i was already playing a game and i only play one game at a time so i don't go searching other games while i am already into a game, unfortunately my account got hacked and i was playing on a private server but the mods didn't do anything so looking for a new game and came across this.

Did you try to play a healer because that is the class i am most interested in ?

Do you think you will go back to the game when it goes into open beta ?

It's quite literally the asian World of Warcraft, as they've marketed it. I've played it, I liked it well enough but I just think honestly there are way better games coming out like Blade & Soul which is a more modern game in that it's combat and content is much more entertaining, and obviously much better looking and a clearly supported game for the long-term, whereas I don't really know how much Asta will get updated as time goes on because it closed overseas. It feels a bit stiff at times, but it's colorful, the graphics are  decent and if it manages to find success here I would be interested to see the content that comes out for it later.

I don't really have a lot of interest in action combat because i tried Raiderz when it came out and i just didn't like that play style, I was even surprised to find a tab target game or a non sandbox game when i was looking.

I heard about it closing down in the east but isn't that something to do with mobile gaming ?

To answer your question on why many here are not talking about it, probably because there is no western outlet for the game, and most people on this forum are from the US. Unless the game comes over from Korea, you probably won't see much about it here.

I did play a healer as well as a mage and warrior. The healer is a fantastic class in this game. It really does mirror WOW in many ways. I mean that as a compliment. Each race has it's own starting area, different specs for each class, Good grouping tools, Dungeon tools, I leveled my healer to 16 and had a blast. The game is made by a group of developers that wanted a more classic approach to mmos. Tab target, trinity game play, more themepark and race diversity. I love the game personally. Most fun I had all year in an mmo. I played B&S and BDO and though I liked what they offered, ASTA is the one I will spend my time with. I am not an action combat kind of guy. ( I sub to EQ2) The crafting is fun and useful. Overall a really fun time. I know it is a matter of taste though so many people did not like it. I love the feel and look and gameplay of the game. The Boss fights are fun as well.
I only ever played wow for 1 night on a free trial and never went back not sure why i think i may of tried it at the wrong time, I did play allods online which people said was like wow so if it's anything like that i probably will like it.

Oh interesting, they found an western publisher.
It's already been in closed beta in the west and is going into open beta this month.

Question is, why play this when you can play the original?
    Another bad imitation.

Beacause it's a new place to explore with new things to see and experience?

The gameplay was fun the visuals were entertaining to me, all good enough reasons to play it for me.

Many people calling it asian world of warcraft but remind you that WoW doesn't have forced pvp endgame zones. I have seen several youtubers complaining about forced pvp endgame nature of asta. But i will give it a try nonetheless.

Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.

I played in CB up to lvl 50 and was pretty much the strongest player that time (played Archer).
I also played the indonesian version up to lvl 35 ( you have there 6x exp rates).

Let me summarize: the game is a pice of garbage

-->first of all let me say: the game is dead in korea, died within 1 year after release- there is no dedicated team for new content. Max lvl 60 i think, could be 55. It will start with lvl 50->55->60
The game died because it was a piece of garbage rushed product and couldnt sustain playerbase.

    - Archer are the strongest
    - game is heavy pay 2 win
-quests are super fucking boring- mindless dumbfuck boring->that kind
-PvP is never balanced- Archers and Assasins own in every level range
-PVP is outstanding unbalanced at lvl 50. (1 shot mechanics)
-PVP is in brackets 15-35, 35-49, 50 if you dont have enough players you will never see PVP.
    - There are treausres over the world that people will camp- and if you dont know how the map save system works- you will get a huge dissadvantage
    - there is no way to max your skills if you dont  pay real money
    - There are lvl 50 Pets later on that you need to grind for 2 months because you get 4 daily tokens max
    - The token dungeon system is highly abusive- in indonesian version people made 8k gold per day with mutliple accounts at once wich encouraged gold farmers to spam chat
-The tokendungeon system got changed because of the reason above to a max limit per day wich destroyed literaly the ONLY WAY to max a char as f2p user. Now those ugly ass boring world events give tokens but nowhere enough even if youre a filty casual.
    - there is literally 1 music per world- as you progress further in the game you see less quality (mobs, sound , terrain)->rushed product

I could go on...just go check the main forum.

Overall rating after extensive playtrough: 4/10

Well mobile gaming may have become the focus of the studio, I'm not entirely sure on that but ASTA launched and held a pretty strong player-base for a year or so but died off. I'm not really sure why, but the eastern market probably has two times the MMORPG options the western market has so competition is even more stiff there. Plus with competitive e-sport gaming & action combat games being really huge over there games like Blade & Soul, Icarus, TERA etc are among their most popular games, and also World of Warcraft is still huge there so that probably took a lot of people away from ASTA since ASTA is based on oriental mythologies, which they already have an abundance of games that cover that so it was probably not as unique or outstanding to them as it could potentially be here.

Right now their most popular games are Lineage games, Blade & Soul, Aion, Maple Story games, Icarus, TERA, World of Warcraft, and Black Desert is also still popular even though there are some issues going on with that game in South Korea.
