Transcript for TftC 74, for those that prefer to read it:

    http://imperialnews.network/2016/01/10-for-the-chairman-episode-74/

The topic - amongst other things - is more information on the old stretch goals of procedural generation/exploring new planets and first person combat on select lawless planets on the ground (e.g. fighting for conquerable locations). Interesting is also that he talks about "Alpha UEC" - the in game money we will earn from doing missions in the Alpha, so we can shop in the Alpha in a few weeks (in ArcCorp Landing Pad 18 landing zone) and grab some new ships and ship modules at the ship dealer and personal items (clothing  and FPS weapons).

    >>>>did he really say '911 stuff' in regards to a video game and griefing. Talk about completely out of touch with reality.  >>>>

That was a remark in direct response to some threads on the official forum, where some players (especially with an EVE Online background) announced their intention to deliberately crash a lot of cheap spaceships into buildings on landing approach on populated planets like Terra or Earth. And then claim insurance.

    Have fun

How many new ship pics did he say are coming up for sale?
How many new things did he promise to add in?
How long did he push the release date back?

You really should look up the definition of slander or did you go to the same law school that Ortwin went to?

Here I will help you "Slander is the act of making a false, negative spoken statement about someone. In law, the word slander is contrasted with libel, which is the act of making a false written statement about someone. The noun slander is from Old French esclandre, escandle "scandal," from Late Latin scandalum "stumbling block, offense."

Such as "This game will never release" These people are ripping everyone off" "They are not selling ships, just pictures"

    Consider yourself educated.

    So WTF??????
Is the game an MMORPG or not?

As I understand, it's a smaller number multiplayer game based on smaller instances. This is getting freaking ridiculous. As soon as someone asks a question, it's OK to compare it all all the MMORPGs that came before. But sure as shit, when it's nolonger convenient to compare this to an MMORPG, it's a Space Sim then.....don't call it an MMORPG.

    I'm calling bullshit.

If it's not an MMORPG, comparing it to one means squat.

So saying such things as "These guys will never release the game" "They are just stealing from people "They are not selling ships just pictures" is not slander?

Maybe you are thinking of it like I am applying for a law suit or something, even though I am obviously using it in the conversation context.

Perhaps you should try harder to be unbiased and wont cloud your perception so much.

When it's convenient to compare it to MMORPGS, then that's good. When it's not convenient, we will see it brought to our attention that "Hey!, it's not an MMORPG!"
So whats your point then? MMO take longer to develop than just an Online game? They have more content than an online game does?

Not to sure what your point is. Who cares if it compared to mmo's or not, that was just a graph I found that reiterated ambitious projects and their time spent on development.

I could find a bunch of "Online" games for you and their dev times if it makes you feel better.

If he whispered those things in your ear then yes, it is slander.  If he wrote them on the forums it is libel.  I dont think anyone here can testify in court to HEARING him say these things but we can all testify he WROTE them.  See the difference?

    LOL
My point was pretty clear. The chart is bulls**t. It's obvious for the same reason you don't put a Honda Civic on a chart comparing SUV gas mileage. You clearly understood what I said. But you still had to come back and say "I don't know what your point is" twice?

But SC is the first of it's kind, money going to only 1 man no board of directors. 1 man is making the decision's. Nope I can't see comparing it to any of the others.

You are living in your own delusional world. Of course it compares to the time to make other games. It's a game.

I know, I know....."It's a game" so comparing it to any other game works. Well, as long as it actually works. We'll just wait for the charts to pop up here when it's no longer convenient to be compared to an MMORPG.

So what's your explanation for EQ then? 3 years to make and depending on who you talk to SC is just past 3 years or just past 4 years.

I wonder if people will still pull this chart out as a (poor) defense if SC is still in a alpha state a year from now or 2 years from now.
