Old companions in KotFE

Will our old companions be returning to the story?  Which ones?  When?

I am trying to find BioWare quotes about this, particularly recent ones, but I keep finding speculation instead.  To further complicate things, the speculators usually disagree with each other.

From what I can gather, a long time ago (in a galaxy far away) BioWare said that all companions would be returning.  Some people then speculated that what BioWare meant by this was the companion terminal.

I would really like to see my companions come back in the story, can anyone hook me up with some links?

As far as I know Bioware never announced which old companions we will see in the KotFE story. That's why you can only find speculation about it. Also i don't recall them saying that all of them will be returning through story, but I might have missed that annoucement.

At this point we only know that certain Agent companion will be in the next Chapter.

EDIT: Just remembered - one of Smuggler companions will also come back with Chapter X (they mentioned it during December livestream: http://dulfy.net/2015/12/01/swtor-december-producers-livestream-coverage/)

Yeah, Bowdaar and Kaliyo are confirmed to return in Chapter X. Well... they haven't actually said Kaliyo will be recruit-able again, but I strongly suspect she will be. Other than that, it's a mystery.

My inner cynic says that they're going to save people's favorite (AKA romanceable) companions until close to the end though, so that they don't have to give them tons of dialogue. >.<

Expect to get the all "trash" companions back before getting the good ones. Then again, I could be wrong, since Kaliyo's one of the fairly popular ones as well. And I suspect/hope there'll be more companions beyond Bowdaar and her in Chapter X, even if it's just to get the scrubs out of the way.

Thanks for the info.  It is very exciting that they are putting the effort in to show a companion grow during the 5 year gap.  I still wish they were being more upfront with all the missing companions, though.  I feel like they could have written them into the story without giving them the extra treatment Kaliyo is getting.  I am still really concerned that they may have seen removing the companions (and the talented voice actors behind them) as a cost-cutting measure.

I'm pretty sure they said all the companions won't be coming back. I don' t think there will be any romancing going on. The story has to be generic, the romance stories are class specific.

I am not hoping for the full Kaliyo treatment for all companions, just hoping they are brought back (not through the terminal).  Do you have any links you can help me out with?

In a live stream Bioware confirmed that all the old companions would be available for return in KotFE (via the terminal), although only some would return via the story. This is reported here:

Anyone know of a list of which companions are currently reintroduced in KotFE via Alliance Alerts or something? As of Chapter 9?

Not really a list but if you check Dulfy's companion recruitment guide you can see which companions can be recruited via alerts.

Blizz and Kaliyo are coming in chapter X too.
Hopefully along with a few more that they haven't announced yet.

Part of me fears that we won't get them all back during KotFE though... but rather during the next adventure/expansion. They did say another one would follow KotFE, with the same monthly chapters system.

I just want Mako or Kira. One of them and I'm happy. Kalio will help. But I really want Mako and Kira.

Side question... Is there a reason they dont have armor slots on the new companions, like Senya and Lanna? and are there any companion customization's for the new companions? (since they do have a slot for that)

So far there are no companion customization's for new companions.

As for armor slots, there were couple of threads on SWTOR forums asking about lack of them, but as far as I know Bioware never answered why they are not there or whether they will be added in the future.

I'm guessing they did to ensure the companions look good in the cutscenes. Hopefully they'll eventually give them proper slots, since not being able to customize them kinda sucks.

Mako....  "I'm not just a pretty sidekick"    That allways made me smile,  because that's exactly what she used to be.  After 4.0 it's me that's the sidekick though. ^^  Usually playing tanks and with dps companions,  they outdps me easily,  or so it seems anyways.
