When I play MMOs, I only play 1 at a time. There are three main reasons for this:
1) I'm an endgame focused gamer, both PvP and PvE. For a good MMO, it takes a decent time investment to stay competitive at endgame, or even just to participate. In my last MMO (SW:TOR) I'd usually spend 2 nights a week raiding, 2-3 nights PvPing with guildies, then maybe 1 night leveling an alt or just a few nights off. That leaves no time for a second mmo.
2) Money - So far, I've only ever played MMOs that I can subscribe to. Whilst £8.99 isn't much, I generally try to keep my monthly fixed expenses as low as possible to make my life easier. One subscription to a good MMO is all I need.
3) Guild - I'm a group orientated player, so naturally I'm in a guild whenever I play MMOs. I've been part of the same guild since 2007, so end up playing the same games with the same core group of people. I'm also the sort of person who can't stand other people getting in the way of my goals. This means in every MMO I've played, I've ended up as either raid leader or guild leader. This takes up a significant chunk of time and is something you can only be good at if you are dedicated to one game.
Currently Playing: WAR RoR - Spitt rr7X Black Orc | Scrotling rr6X Squig Herder | Scabrous rr4X Shaman
I like too many things to play just one. Luckily with many MMO's having a F2P or B2P model, it makes it easier for me to play a few at a time. Right now I'm regularly playing Trove, Devilian, and Rift, and I've been dabbling with Project Gorgon, ESO, TERA, and Aion.
I do not only play one video game. They are games .. i play whatever i feel i want to at the moment. Whether they are MMOs or not .. is irrelevant to me.
Back when I was in school I would play multiple, but now I only really have time for one. Not sure which I miss more, to be honest, but the glory days of binging every other variant of Mountain Dew and staying up all night glued to a screen will always hold a special place in my heart. (That said, the thought of binging Mountain Dew right now makes me sickish... )

I can generally play more than one game at a time, but I can't play more than one MMO at a time. I like to dedicate myself to one persistent world, MMO hopping feels really weird.
Really? Everything? How mich disc space do you have?
I try to test as manny mmorpgs as possible- this is due to my never ending thirst for the nostalgic wow or Legend of Mir, EQ etc feeling. In other words I am chasing the dragon!
I really want to focus on one game but nothing is worthwhile like WoW original. If any of those newcomers are what they claim to be, I am gladly to settle and build a dream.

Well, I try every MMO that gets released, that I can find through here or Steam mostly. I don't play them all consistently. I haven't played any game consistently since WoW in Cata/MoP

I admire the fact that you were able to play WoW in cata/MoP those were the expansions that made me quit.

I started WoW when Cata launched and I seen all of those cool Deathwing commercials lol. So I had nothing to go by or compare. ^^
I liked Cata, though I played MoP the most. And WoD is garbage.

Depends on how caught up I get in an MMO. Usually I play multiple ones, but there are times where I wind up sticking to just one for an extended period of time.

Of course, there can be only One, and it has to be a MMORPG, as a true purist there can be no compromise.
This pretty much leaves only EVE to play for me, but that's OK, been playing only EVE since July 2014 with no regrets.
What is the opposite of a purist?
Not only i don't only play one MMO, i don't play one game even when i like it a lot. Just Diablo-type games (MMO or not), i play D3, Victor Vran, Marvel Heroes, and probably Van Helsing 2 and PoE. Now if one of these games come out with a good patch (i.e. new content, like what D3 did yesterday), i may play it exclusively for a day or two.
I don't only watch one tv show, and certainly not one computer game.

I like to completely emmerse myself into just 1 character. Anymore than that is half assed and I cant stay focused.
