I know if i played this back when it launched "was it 2012?!" i probably would have been amazed and hooked but playing this in 2016 is just ,, eh, a chore? I dont know what it is but other than the gorgeous graphics this game is just not doing it for me.... 

  It really pisses me off too because they spent all this time translating and localizing and making the "story" for western audiences....Majority of us playing dont give 2 *^&& about that nonsense, we just want to play the game.... All this time wasted when we could have been enjoying this game when it was "time relevant" instead of playing what feels like a dinosaur today. I wish they would just start releasing Asian MMO's in their current form with broken english , who cares about the lame linear story, we play MMO's to create our own storys not follow some lame devs one.

Wow, I suppose that's one way to look at it.

I don't really see how age makes a game bad or good. Unless of course you are always looking for "new". 

A good game is a good game. I'm not necessarily saying this game is bad or good but the graphics still hold up and it has a decent story for what it is. The combat system with it's multiple combos is decent (you don't find a lot of that in mmo's).

Also, while I'm with you on the whole localization thing (I'd rather play the game in its original form without localization and just translation (not the voices though, I'd rather read the subtitles) saying that the majority of people don't care is not necessarily accurate. There's just no way to justify/prove that statement.

While I agree with a lot of what Sovrath has already said, I'm with you on time relevant. This is why I can't be very bothered to play much because they missed their chance.

Other than being less sick of theme park mmorpg's in 2012 I can't really think of anything that might have changed to make this anymore of a chore than it was before.

Your not alone in this. I knew so many people that were hyped for this game. But now most don't give a crap because of all the lame ass changes added for the U.S. release and how long it took. Sure everyone will try it out at release because its f2p. But as far as longevity it will be popular for a few months. When you stand back and look at the game. It has nothing to it that's new compared to other old Asian games. Its the new shiny.

You don't have to force yourself to play it. If it's not doing it for you. Might be good time to leave it or take a break from it. Still early in the games western release life, so better to do it now. Before you force yourself to play, and get a vested interest in your character. Might even be able to get a refund on the pack you bought.

I understand your point but like others have said if you gotta force yourself to get into a game probably not for you....

Not sure any games on the horizon are really gonna be the IT game like we usually have every year......

Level 23 and having a lot of fun. This game caters to solo and group players (and PvE and PvP players as well) so I can see this game not having as much hype as Black Desert, but more staying power anyway.

Tired of questing? you do a dungeon or PvP they are easy to get into. questing is pretty cool just for the storyline alone. Also rewards for questing are more than worth it, and being PvP flagged makes it better.

I picture all the rants from NA players when they can't even figure out what to do because everything is in Korean.  You say you don't care about westernization, but if you've ever watched a video stream of some guy trying to play a game in a language totally foreign to them, it's almost like a comedy of errors.

You would quit the game even faster when it was relevant if you couldn't figure out how to even install it.

TL:DR players who don't want any of that nasty context.  Though if it is poorly written (as many games are) skipping is probably a lesser pain.

Obviously you havent heard of The Division or Black Desert. This joke of a game released at quite possibly the worst time. Both aforementioned titles will be opening doors in about two weeks. B&S will be barren in about that time. I guess you can still hit lvl cap and be cool.. throw it in your l337 sigs for your mmo experience and try to whirl that around like a set of 16 lb. balls in your forum posts.
