I was hoping to be able to write an article about gameplay in BnS, the first of a new column, but after running into numerous issues installing the game, let alone playing it, this is the sad panda result.

Actually, a VAST majority of players have had no issues whatsoever getting the game going (technically), and performing quite well. The bug reports threads in the official forums will confirm that it is only a few having the above reported problems.
Most of the difficulties have revolved around so many people rolling on the Mushin server (which was the default beta server). The consequence has been extraordinarily long queue times, which look to get worse come F2P launch. Do yourself a favour, and try a different server. Even so, premium players get queue priority, so there might still be some waiting involved.

I second this. My friends rolled Mushin and I never, ever got to play. I waited in queue all day long on Sunday. Not really a big deal but roll to one of the recommended servers if you can.

Sorry to hear people are having problems. The Razer problem doesn't surprise me, the Asus one does though. Rare to see something conflicting with Asus stuff.
Yeah, from the bug reports on the BnS official forums, it looked like there were a fair number of people who ran into this. Multiple threads and all. I did the first and second CBTs and was quite happy but didn't want to burn out so didn't play any further. At some point along the way, I finally upgraded to a new PC... with an ASUS motherboard. So I played Friday, Saturday and did 3 hours of dungeon running on Sunday before I finally found out that I was the only one lagging in my groups. (they probably wondered about my piss poor performance) A little forum-checking later and I found several threads talking about in-game lag and ability activation delays. I stopped and disabled AsusGamersFirstService and then it immediately got better. No need to log out or anything else. Which is good... because I'm on Mushin!

Anyway they do this for all other games so why not BnS? If things does not work as they should it gets reported on... Small or big.

What bullshit type of "anti-cheat" software are they running that permit legit services? Seriously....those koreans need to learn that those failsafes are utter bullshit and they are more of a headache than they are worth. I'm sure people are already botting. Job well done again NCSoft. Is this game protected by GameGuard again? Because it totally sucked for Lineage 2.
