in Final Fantasy XI

Hey everyone I'm thinking about buying FFXI but I want some questions answered first.

1. I heard that there are a lot of american haters on the servers that wont allow americans to join their groups or harass them. Is this true?

2. Are the graphics good? Can't really tell by the screenshots.

3. Are there lots of quests or "missions" in the game that reward you with experience and items?

4. I can't decide between FFXI or DAoC if anyone has played either game or switched from one to the other can you tell me why?

    1. I dont know.
    2. Graphics arent bad.. but they arent good either. Keep in mind this game is needed to be compatible with
    PS2 and PC. So they couldnt do much.
    3. There is a good ammount.
    4. DAoC has good content.. but I don't like it for some reason.. just the feel bugs me.
    And its kinda old.

    1. America Haters: My experience (as an American Player) is people hate stupid people, and nationality is merely a detail.  Yes, some Japanese players now have in their search criteria in "auto-translate"= "American party? No thanks" but not many.  Now that its been a while since the NA release, most of the noobness has disappeared from the NA ranks.  But just wait until you see in both Japanese and NA players criteria "Xbox360? No thanks" :)

    2.Graphics are great to me, I'm sure soon, if not already there are some better but still good enough to amaze me at times.

    3. Quests/Missions for items/exp: TONS of quests!  Plenty of missions, and 3 complete storylines currently going on (one is still being updated occassionally too).  Don't expect EXP from quests and missions though, except from the mobs you kill during that quest if they proc high enough to you and your party.  If you don't understand what I mean about proc-ing high enough to you and your party, do a google search for something like "Final Fantasy XI experience table" or the like.

    4. FFXI is my only MMORPG- so can't help ya here.

    1. I've never been "harrassed" by another player other than the occasional asshole being annoying.

    2. I think the graphics are amazing.  The character models and equipment look great and the landscapes are beautiful.

    4. I played DAoC with a friend for maybe a month and I can't say I really liked it.  I probably wouldn't even have played it that long if it wasn't for my friend.

During the time I played, I had not one person harrass me for my heritage; seeing how that I'm Canadian, I don't think there is much of a difference, so people that would harrass Americans, would probably harrass me along side you.2. If you have a bad computer, I foresee that you will get bad graphics, or you might not even beable to run the game at all. Vice versa for if you do, infact, have a good computer.3. Like what a lattar poster mentioned, the only EXP you'll most likely get is from the monsters you will have to go through to achieve in "beating" the quest.And, a small warning if you love doing quests: you won't find as many quests in FFXI as you would in EQ2 or WoW. 4. I can't decide between FFXI or DAoC if anyone has played either game or switched from one to the other can you tell me why? I've actually tried and quit both. DAoC had its RvR while FFXI has it's grinding (mind you, that isn't a bash). If you would like to try DAoC, you can try the 14-day trial located here.     1....Well Im gonna be going back to FFXI soon and i cant wait but last time i was in...no one ver insulted me since I live In North America but im actually hispanic but im not going to runing around saying "im hispanic!" so i type in english in this game but theur are people from england as well and their not american.

    2.Graphics are really good not better then other MMORPGs but they are great.

    3.no...well you need to find NPCs that have them...I would suggest buying the game guide or lookiing in faqs.

    4.I was in the same thing as you...exept i couldnt decide by CoH and DAoC but then I rember how fun FFXI really was...the reason I quit FFXI was beacause i was curious how other MMORPGs would be but choose FFXI I hope it will have better community when it comes out for Xbox 360...but more little brats will come in as noobs complainingimage *sigh* if only they didnt ruin WoW..well their are some kids who are mature but forget it.

    Anyway the only thing im thinking about is the Population in the game but it will raise up one xbox 360 comes...

    2. The grapix kick ars if u want a screen shot my aim is xrabidmonkeyodx and i have graphix on full btw so they are SWEET!
