LOL!!! I used to play runescape. MY account name was Knightknife and your right, People in that game hit on the female characters way to much (even though most are men looking for women but are getting men). Anyways RS2 was an all right game. I think it had good PvP (low lvl or not), Interesting gameplay, and alot of quests. The main problem with the game was the players (talk about immature pre-adolescents) in the game. Also the graphics were bad and a guy named Zezima thinks he owns the place. I was also pretty frustrated with the ammount of rule breakers and hackers and JAGEX has plans to take over the world . Alot of new updates are way to overwhelming. I HATED THE REPETITIVENESS!!!! I endured playing Rune Scape for a 10 months until lvl 85. It consumed my life. RUNESCAPE is fine if your young.
Anyways your the 1% of girls who use male characters in MMORPGs. Congrats. You also have a good reason to be a male in the games. If I was a female I would be a female character and say I was a guy though.
Ah amen to that! Zezima such a jacka$$ and Jagex is a money hungry company that puts out bullsh*t updates so the 5 year olds that play the game dont whine F*ck runescape! ^-^ Wow that felt really good I wasted 60.00 on a year of members and I regret it.
I have a male friend that I often try out mmorpgs with and he has an interesting theory: "Why would I sit and stare at a male for hours when I can sit and stare at a female. It's not that I get off on that kind of thing I just find it to be more practical to stare at a female figure if your male or a lesbian."

Thats pretty much how I feel about it. I almost always use a female avatar - its just more pleasant. And when I've used a male avatar I actualy lose interest in the game, I find that I just dont care about him.

I would love to have a female avatar and not get bugged but it seems almost impossible. Kalonline is the only game I have played in where my female is actually respected.
I played EQ for years. When I first started I experimented with different races and classes, but it was the first female character that ended up sticking. I spent the rest of my years in EQ playing a female character. I had some male alts, but my main was always a female.
I am playing DAoC now and I have a mix of characters. My previous main was a female, but my current one is a male. I figure that since all my characters aren't human, why should they all be male?
about the Young Kids who like Insult people and make themself look perv in front of in Game Girls...
its because theyr Generation go on the "pussy way" i would say!
here an exemple of what "Pussy Way" mean: Insult without reason everyone, and even go on 3v1 all day long ( High school Child im talking about there), when they push a guys too much and he about to kick the little wannabe ass, the little guys who was trying to look cool, run away like a pussy and come back see him to take a fight at the end of the day, but like i said, its the Pussy way, so the Little Wannabe guys will ask is other Wannabe friend and Attack the guys in Group! that only one Part of the "Pussy way" the new generation is going in!
i didnt include the other thing that can Enter in the Categorie of the pussy way! which some are:
-Pervert thing
-Stealing
-Drugs use----- > I cant really say those, but when you see a 13-16 y olds kid drink and use drugs, its > surely not because he like that, more to make Himself try to look cool or something! -Alcohol--------
-Environment destruction
-etc!
EVEN friendship can be Include in the list, because today the kid are so afraid to get Caught that they put the Fault on theyr friends!
I like to use both male and female. Most games I play, I really get into the role-playing and it is fun to play the opposite sex sometimes. If you play your own gender, you tend to make your character act just like you would. Playing the opposite gets you to be more creative.
In FFXI, like freaking 80% of all Mithras, which is an all female cat race are played by males. I have confermed in that one of my LS peeps only invited Mithras, and we usually ask if they are a guy. They usually reply yes.
----------------Signature------------------ Can someone please make me a sig. I would like it to have something to do with an eagle(the bird) Somewhere near the eagle can you put the words "Global Defense Initiative". Could you also have the line "If you can't buff up, don't step up!". Thanks!
Guys always use the excuse, "I'd rather look at a nice, female butt when I play." Bollocks. I'm not buying it! Come on, lads... tell the truth. You just want to be your mum! The ladies won't mind... we like a man who's in touch with his feminine side. (and it's always nice to have someone to swap clothes with)
That sounds like fun but unfortunetly for me I play a female sprite when I am a guy cause I am also a pervert and it helps me be a "Hardcore" player.
During those long level grinding session nothing gets you through your day like looking at that sweet ass of the sprite you spent 10 hours making it look valoptous and defining the curves of the female body. Really when your leveling grinding the most important thing is being like a robot since your doing the same thing over and over again. And when I am in drool state, achieving the robot is alot easier.

Err... well... at least you admit you're a pervert. hehe. That's the first step to redemption. There's only 11 more steps to go!
Both males and females have acceptable reasons about this issue - mostly the males play female characters for aesthetic reasons, and females play male characters so as not to be get hit on. Well, it really confuses me how I call them. Because it begins to happen a lot: I call a female character "she", there is no reaction to that subsequently, yet after some time I am corrected that "she is a 'he' " in public or vice versa. I suggest this kind of people to react and correct me as soon as I call them wrongly if they are called with wrong gender after some time in the public.
It's kind of funny that roleplaying isn't taken more seriously in MMORPGs. I'm female, play female characters, and most of the time people assume I'm male, saying "him", "he", etc. I don't bother to correct them, because, well, that usually doesn't turn out well... But if a male wants to play a MMO as a female character, others should just theoretically assume they want to be called a female, right?
I just find it funny that noone will assume that a male character ingame is female, but so many assume any female ingame is male. Not like it really matters, but it's still kind of amusing.
I always select he gender that suits the class. I always select female as gender when I select ranger as a class. If I play as a barbarian I always take male as gender.
I don't why people get so riled up about this sort of stuff LOL... It's suppose to be a Role playing game. So if you think a female would be better at a certain class or job why not pick a female character. I do it all of the time. I generally use males as fighter and females as spellcasters. Why? Just my personal preference. Just a game and why people need to bother other players in game by hitting on them based on the avatar??? Lord you need a life LOL!
I don't bother to correct people either, Manday. I have a good rule, however... at least it works for me. I simply take everyone at face value. If they choose a female character, I refer to them as female. If they correct me and tell me their male... I'll still refer to them as female while their in that skin. Why tax my brain trying to remember who's a boy and who's a girl? If they cared so much, they wouldn't go ambisextrous, would they?
I agree with Signe. If you want to play a character who's the opposite sex than you are, be prepared to be referred to as a she if you're really a he and vice versa if it's the other way around. Other players aren't responsible for keeping track of who's on the other end of the line, and if you have issues being referred to as the opposite gender then please stick to your own.
I personally have no issues with people who want to play opposite sex characters. It is, after all, a roleplaying game, and it's not unheard of for some guy to play a female character. Ladies who want to play males to avoid getting hit on, that's definately understandable.
I only start having issues when people use their fem characters to take advantage of other players, particularly those who offer online relationships to the insecure types who have troubles finding someone in RL in exchange for free stuff and other things. It's not just guys who do this either, I've seen girls do it too. Both cases I consider to be dishonest scum when they pull this garbage.
I would say 96% of all my characters are men, except for when I make a spell caster because I don't think magic is very "manly". So i kind of stereo type my characters a little. Men are always warriors, monks, rangers, or any kind of melee, or ranged class. Women are always mages and such.
Don't you worry little buddy. You're dealing with a man of honor. However, honor requires a higher percentage of profit

I just can't seem to make my male self fit into a female body...even a cyber one. It just doesn't feel right and I don't like getting hit on.

I play both male and female player characters in my mmorpgs
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.

I think I'll find a game where you can ...transform...yourself...at anytime....somehow....yeah!
I only play Male Characters
and personally i think its just both sick and pathic when a guy plays a female characters and use them for begging
It may be sick and pathetic but its a good idea. Ive never done it though.
