Yes There raised over 90 Million from some of the top companies in technology and came up with There. I don't expect any thing better from There. They have done the best job at keeping up with updates and adding new content.

We finally got a feature called ThereCam which is a in world screen shot program. They are gonna be releasing v2 Paint Ball guns soon, faster then ever! We are expecting sevral new viechles in the coming months and some new islands.

Also they started the Greeter Program which is still in development. Still we have over 100 volunteer helpers, I am one of them. One of the nicest places in There would have to be Astrology Temple. It is so well designed and the detail is amazing.

Its a round marbel open space temple with pillers of the zodiac. And above is a moving map of the solar system. It is the most amazing thing you'll ever lay your eyes on. But I know There can top that, as they always bring something more amazing in world every month.

I think they have spent the 90 Million very well so far, its a powerful user driven world and what more can you expect? I mean the developers have done such an amazing job. The whole team at There has seen it though that we the community build There, not the company.

It's like Planetside. I love the game and could go on for hours about how great it is and how I don't understand how somebody can not like it, and then you can tell me that There is better and don't understand how nobody can like There, and then I can say Planetside is better, then you can say There is better, then I say Planetside is better. But the fact of the matter is, it's all an opinion. Opinions are like assholes, everybody has them.

EQ is a giant chatroom as far as I am concerned(and WoW as well)...so There and Sims and that type of games, well, they are chatrooms mostly, but they have more non-chat activities then EQ.  image

If someone is grouped, raiding or PvPing while in fact they would rather be soloing in a PvE setting, for any reason, the game is a big chatroom.  I prefer a group over solo myself, but if I have to group, then I suddenly prefer soloing over grouping, since solo was never enforced upon me.  And guess what, in enforced groups, you get a lot of chatty anti-social freaks which should not be tolerated...raiding is the same problem, only dozens of times worser.

IMHO he seems to try and come off sincere with his opinions of "There" but it can't be for real. Any person with half a brain knows that they are ticking people off. There is no way this guy doesn't see what he is doing. Now while he may retort that he is simply "pouring his heart out" about the game, any person with an IQ high enough to get to this website knows that there is a certain extent to which you should express your feelings on a game, especially when you have already recieved an overwhelming amount of NEGATIVE responses and LOCKED THREADS. If you can delve into the idea of this game's potential and how you feel its necessary for people to be informed about it, you should also be able to delve into the idea that people have their own opinions of what they want in a game. And you got your responses not many here seem to jump at the idea of your "amazing" game, despite its "ground-breaking" features and events that you have described. You already know this though man, its obvious you've made enough threads to figure that out. And reading the topic of this thing, shows flamebaiting to me. You have to be EXTREMELY IGNORANT not to know why people don't like or would enjoy the game. No game is perfect buddy, and no game appeals to all. You seem to only respond to flames in a calm and sincere manner that seems fake to me after all of what you have done. You know whats up, stop acting.Anyways thats all for me. Don't expect another post for weeks upon months.

I just don't get why people would develope games like WoW or Guild Wars. You can't build and the possibilities are so limited. I mean there is alot less social interactions which is why the internet was created. For people around the world to interact with each other, not kill each other.

There pulls together all the great things about the internet and puts it into 3D form. I mean you can create a MMMORPG inside a MMORPG. Its just so amazing how you can do all this stuff with the tools There gives you. I mean your mind can go wild and you can do whatever you want to do.

You could create a hotel or a shop for your designs. I mean the possibilities are endless. Its so empowering and so breath taking. I mean having the power to shape and build a world where you choose what goes here or there. Its very different, having that power at your finger tips. Very different.

I don't get how somone can be so addicted to a game like There. If I wanted to just interact and meet people I would do it in real life.

I have friends in real life but we're not very close. I'd rather hang out with people I am close to in a Virtual World then hang out with people I am not close to in Real Life. If you dare make another rude comment I will open up all my flaming skills upon you.

I am sick of the rude and unneeded comments towards There. You don't see me DIRECTLY bashing a game. I am doing it in a nice calm way with some common sence. However, you are doing this just to offend me and make me angry.

I don't respect people like you who bash something like There. I would defend Second Life even though I hate it. Want to know why? Because I respect what they are doing, like us they are building and shaping a world which will one day change human interaction.

Both worlds are leaps into the future and I don't understand why you bash that. It is simply beyond me! I just don't get it. Ya, I know i'm a freak cause I want to have fun the way I have fun. That makes me a bad person all of the sudden.

Hmm what you just said proves that you have bad social skills in real life. Really like I said before...me and most of the people in this topic don't need to find online friends because we can probably get real life friends, it's kind of sad that you get along better with you cyber buddies than with your real life friends. I'm not saying that it's bad to have online friends but it's VERY sad if your online friends mean more to you than your real life friends. I think that if you are into building stuff and creating things you will probably like games like THERE, but you make it sound like it was some sort of religion or something. I'd hate to see what you would do if someone hacked into the game and destroyed everything...you would probably go cry for a few hours and then jump off a bridge right?

Is FanBoy an offical term? It sounds kinda offincive to me. I am very passionate about There and thats all. The fact that There was brought up started to make the hard core members heat up. They bashed There and I had to defend it.

I did not plan for this thread to become a war. I never wanted any of my threads to be like that. I was just showing people the light and spreading the word. I'm sorry if I offended any one. I will keep defending There until no one bashes it.

It highly offends me when There is called a game. It is a metaverse or a Virtual World. There is part of the metaverse conept. A universe that exists within cyber space where you can be and create whatever you wish to create.

I'll meet people where I want and when I want. If I want to meet people in a Virtual World how is it hurting you? What gives you the right to tell me what I should do? I have a very rough life and I need There to just relax and get it off my chest. And thank you!

I have no problem with meeting people online. I have online friends that I play games with and they are considered my "friends", but really man, I'd MUCH rather go to a party, have some drinks with my REAL LIFE friends. If saying "you need to get out of the house" offends you, I really feel sorry for you. I can tell, people like you with their obsessive personalities, OCD weirdos.

I imagine you like that one fat guy with the glasses in "Office Space" who ends up blowing up the office. I truly feel sorry for you, I can tell why you must live a rough life. People must have made fun of you and beat you up all through school. You never got invited to go hang out with friends, you never played anysports, and you never got out of the house.

It's ok man, you can mask all of this in your "virtual world" but the truth is the only way you can change this is to get out of the house and do something. Go to the gym, lift some weights. Try it, it makes you feel GREAT, one of the best highs you can get without the use of drugs. How about surfing? Dropping down into a beautoful perfect 6 foot wall of water as it opens up for you to just let loose and do some big snaps, theres no other feeling like that in the world. Step away from the computer man, real adrenaline and highs are so much better then virtual highs.

You don't need There, you need a psychologist! Seriously Joel, have you considered speaking with a professional? They'll be able to assist you a lot more than a virtual world will.

It's funny how Joel brags and brags about this game being the best game in the world but spends most of his time on these forums. Hmmm, sounds like a fanboi!

He's worst than the WoW fanboi's! Atleast they actually play their game and are ALOT less obsessed with it.

I bet his life is rough(like he says) considering being a single 28 year old virgin(Cybering doesn't count Joel).

Wow, you know people have problems when they think they are another "species" or "race" while playing a game. I play guild wars. I'm not a guildwarsian, nor am I a necormancer, etc. It's sad, but I really think you have some kind of problem. You need to see a psychologist. You are going down the same path as the EQ player who committed suicide because his online "friends" stole all of his loot. In the future you are probably going to do something similiar.

I have a very rough life and I need There to just relax and get it off my chest.

Yet another reason to see a psychologist.

I do go to the gym, I lift weights all the time. Been going for 2 years now. I'm not the total looser you think I am. I have a job and real life friends. It is just that I enjoy the company of my online friends. They make me laugh and my real life friends just remind me of my job.

    *sigh*

I think this thread has long since outlived its usefulness and needs to be put out of its misery.  Hint to the mods, please lock this poor dead horse to prevent it from being beat on anymore.

He's worst than the WoW fanboi's! Atleast they actually play their game and are ALOT less obsessed with it.
I bet his life is rough(like he says) considering being a single 28 year old virgin(Cybering doesn't count Joel).

This might tell ya how I can post on these boards. There has a built in browser!
