Agree about the UI. Far too much info, useless at that, always on my screen. That and autorun to quest objectives....I don't understand why this needs to be a thing in MMOs from the east...makes no sense to me. Bunch of lazy...anyway. Another eastern MMO to uninstall and forget. Graphics are sorta nice and combat isn't awful but the game is far too easy and boring. Moving on.
I'm still having seizures from going from the atmosphere of ESO to the strobes of BDO. Gender locked classes was the first concern, but figured could get past it as I always play a warrior anyhow and don't play female toons. I will try again, but I was exhausted after plating for some reason.
person makes thread saying game sucks/broken.. more people agree even though they have never played it.. game is announced "dead" during beta. GG!
Edit: I played it a bit last night, it's not a bad game, reminds me of B&S mixed with Archeage. WIll be interesting to see how cash shop is handled in future

I played the CB2, and did not like the game at all. I found having to use the CTRL button to unlock the mouse very cumbersome. The combat seemed very repetitive. With so much going on, it was difficult to see the mob in front of me. The auto run to quest is very annoying. It takes me right out of the immersion of the game.
But I think if the devs give us options to turn off auto-run to quests and most importantly, class gender unlocks, I could see myself trying this game out again. I refuse to play a half-naked young girl in this game. It is pathetic.
I deleted the game after less then 30 minutes playing. The graphic settings are not good enough. The UI isnt good enough . The key settings arent good enough. The skillspeed isnt good enough. I can go on and on. Just another failure.
If u are such and grumpy nitpicker, and this is all it takes for you to be unhappy about a game then I feel sorry for you.
It doesnt play smooth enough. My playstyle is fast and agressive, so this aint my game. The skillsystem is not made for fast pvp.
I think there are a number of Youtube videos out there that would dispute that.
Hardly, makes it seem even worse imo. Ever play DF 1? That's fast paced MMO pvp there. Are you even required to truly aim in this game? Didn't look like it to me.
Then I'm not really sure what your talking about as those videos are fast and aggressive.
It's not really less "fast and aggressive as this"
So it seems you have some extremely biased view on what "fast and aggressive is.
And yes, you have to aim in Black Desert though I will say that there are some "role play stats" that affect how much damage you do and whether you truly "hit" if you hit (like immunities).

Bloom Desert Online.
Or once again, you can turn things down.
I don't know what happened with some players but there's a trend of getting into game, seeing something they don't like and rushing to the forums to complain and moan because they couldn't be bothered to turn a setting off.

Totally agree. The way the UI is at start, my first reaction was to shut the game off. Then I found the Edit UI button (gasp). Much better now.

He hit every single thing important about a game...
UI is what you always see on screen and displays information to you. And the UI in this game is really bad. Keys are what you use to play a game. I spent about 20 minutes with the keybindings and never found a way to make this game not feel clumsy. Skillspeed, that is combat...does the importance of combat need to be explained to you?
Toss in a story that should have been re-written for a western audience, a game that will clearly become a P2W game and...nothing else needs to be said.
Shame really, its a beautiful game.

There is a filter on by default which is doing that, you can switch it off or even change it to one of the many other filters this game has for whatever reason...More options are better I guess?

Maybe it's console player's moving over to PC's. I have to go in and change graphic settings for every single game I play.
I actually wish for a WoW 2.0, just nobody has done it right. I prefer having 30 skills on my bar and tab target, it requires more thought, gives more options etc etc. If it weren't for their super slow content releases i'd probably still play WoW...
I wish, so sick of all these games with less than 10 abilities in play at once. Sadly it's just what people want these days.
Anyways I'm enjoying Black Desert, but I don't really care about the combat. Grinding mobs is fun enough and I probably won't do much pvp aside from killing people who attack me...unless they add some kind of competitive small scale stuff. I just have fun farming gold in new games and Bdo has a ton of economy. It's also fairly complicated so figuring out all the systems keeps me entertained for now.
It's probably a worthwhile purchase at $30, but I don't see it maintaining a large population for more than a couple months. There is potential though, I guess we'll see what they do with it.

To that end, for those who find the world "too colorful" there are 7 or so filters, not including the "none" option, that changes your picture from black and white to sepia to warm to a sort of dark shadowy world and etc, etc. You can then change gamma and contrast. I'm playing with a sort of "Dark Soulsish" thing going on. Well, as close as I could get.

This is why first impression reviews are nonsense, and it's even more nonsense when people are like, "Thanks for telling me, I almost bought the game."
The graphics are basically unheard of in an MMO. The only problem is things popping in, but that's the price to pay for such a detailed world in an MMO, and you can get used to it. In the end it's the best graphical experience in the history of MMOs- and to top it off if for some reason you don't like it- there's probably an option to adjust it so you will.
Earlier in this thread someone compared the game to WoW... LOL. Are you kidding me?
To those that dislike the combat, that's your call. Everyone has different opinions. I found it's honestly better to look at the combat in BDO sort of like a Dynasty Warriors style. It's not as good as TERA, but I enjoy it over Blade and Soul (which to me was a bit complicated).
I'm not sure what you guys are doing for your UI, but mine is pretty clean. I'm a minimalist when it comes to UI so I don't mess around with that stuff. You can turn off/move the individual elements and resize the UI as a whole.
The graphics are amazing. It's more of a realistic fantasy style than most asian style mmos.

My issues with the game are at its core. It's a solo game. I get it, I do. Solo sells I suppose. It just sucks. I miss groups. I miss grouping. And I'm not talking about pushing a button to queue up for a dungeon and playing with random people that don't even say hello. BDO endgame (at current NA/EU) is just GVG PVP, I guess that's when grouping is important. (Yes, you can farm together other than this)
Also, the "tutorial" for the game is pretty awful. You really don't get told how most of the game works. It reminds me to a lesser extent of FFXI where you had to have wiki open at all times to look anything up (oddly, I enjoyed that).
Game isn't for everyone, and as much as I enjoy it, I don't think it will do that well. 400k+ preorders, but as someone who's followed it, and played a bit in KR, I don't think it will last.
LOL commenting on this game's animations just makes you look like a dumbass to most people. This has been the one mmorpg that has put in a lot of work with their animations for literally everything... It has the best most fluid animations out of any mmorpg that has been released ever period (i've played pretty much every single one in existence...)
