European servers?

How did all of us europeans end up on the US english language servers and not on the EU English language servers? 

I clearly choose EU... yet seems i am playing on a US server?

    My client randomly switched to US for some reason so I had to switch back. I thought my characters had disappeared because I couldn't find them on any server :]
