NCSoft & Ban Hammer

KassinaKassina Member UncommonPosts: 29

Apparently NCSoft started to use Ban Hammer Today for those who abused/Exploited Ongong dungeon etc lol now the most typical of those players who got the Ban Hammer is something around these lines: "ive not bougth any gold or abused exploited Ongong door bug etc"

Later will be worse i think when some get back from school or work and find out they got banned, the forum and reddit will be flooded with same or similar posts even more. It is possible ofc some players actualy got caught in the "Ban Hammer Net" but majority for sure are not innocent.

Players with membership think they are "immune" to get banned just because they pay/paid sub they can abuse/exploit bugs etc, well guess what they arent, EULA/TOS's apply to ever Player regardless with or without sub.

did they ban the insane amount of gold sellers that swamps every talk channel 24/7?

This is a serious problem in the west.  Our culture is much more receptive to cheats and exploits than Eastern cultures.  In Korea, you use your personal ID number to play online games.  Everyone knows who your player belongs to and where you live.  The majority of players act with respect towards one another.

I often wonder what online games (and the internet) would be like if people could not play anonymously.

The downsides of everyone being public far outweigh the benefits.  You don't want to encourage stalking and harassment in real life.

There is no downside. None of that information is shared with the public. They obviously don't disclose that information to other players. It still acts as a deterrent because the company knows who you are and can ban you from all future games.

    Nonsense
The ID card is required to create a single account instead of making infinite fake accounts.

Other players will never get to see your ID.

Would be pretty hard to do with out some type of wall to limit people on new acct. on a level base or a small fee pay wall. Even if they banned gold seller they'll just make a new acct do it again.

So wait is this a positive post or a negative post. The way you worded it sounded like you didn't agree with it, because it sounds like you are saying that NCSoft is banning players that haven't bought enough. But then you say that a majority are exploiting. So I'm confused right now. I'm glad they are taking some sort of action against people doing this.

They banned people for back stepping through 2 doors to get to the last boss to finish a repetitive daily? I've done it a few times. That's pretty stupid. It doesn't hurt the game or economy.

If it's that much of a concern... fix it and be done.

Meanwhile AFK bots are joining dungeon groups because you can't vote to kick them anymore. Bots are raping every channel for resources that take 1-2 hrs to respawn. Bots are quickly buying things off the market and reselling them at mark up, and they're banning people for this silly bollocks?

    Total BS.

I personally Agree 100% with these Bans as well and i think they are doing the rigth thing too, banning those exploits abusers in some dungeons or bougth gold from illegal sources.

I agree the bot problem is the biggest deal.  However they said they won't ban anyone that did this exploit only a few times or in a group.  I think probably everyone did it in a group because if you didn't, you couldn't finish the dungeon because the other people did.

Apparently you only get banned if you did it hundreds or thousands of times solo to farm the boss.  And if you were wrongly banned, people have been getting unbanned in a couple hours through support.

So just because is repetitive and you can finish in 5 minutes instead of 10 thats ok exploiting bugs and abusing those exploits!!!

I believe its because that there are so many cheaters that hide behind " just a better player " moniker which ends up causing others to come to their defense. Then you have those in denial and others that think it doesnt effect them so they dont care.

I have played many asian games where they were designed to bot in.  It was built into the game itself.

Can't play today with the new patch because they put "Game Guard" back on, and I won't install spyware on my system, but sure I won't be getting banned for exploiting, and reported a lot of bots and spammers myself even people in my party for going through walls with skill bug.

Game Guard is only a band-aid it will only help against bots for a few days maybe a week max until you start to see them again.
