I fund this video rather bizarre and inconsistent. Statements like "in Vanilla WoW you weren't even thinking about raiding" followed by "we only raided 4-5 hours a day."
EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests
The guy is right. Just to add, WOW ruined the entire MMORPG genre. Every dumbass developer followed WOW standards and look what we have today, nothing but garbage.
Some of you on here have ZERO standards. You people would play with a shit on a stick and call it the best thing since sliced bread. Sad.

You should re-watch the video but this time pay attention ;-)
A opinion can not be right or wrong... If it could it would be a fact. They can only break with norms and social rules.
So the answer is... To him he is right. We can not take away his experience of the situation. We can only agree or disagree (if we even care that much)
In my opinion he has a very narrow view of the subject and i would not agree. But that i just my opinion, it is not backed by any facts.
However, some opinions can be better than others. They may be better informed, well thought out, without bias, more carefully constructed and not based totally on emotion or strong "beliefs".
Conclusion, not all opinions are equally valid, or....

That's to be expected when taking into consideration that a very large majority of MMORPG folk playing MMORPGs today were raised and indoctrinated into the genre by WoW game play. And a good many more who may not have been raised and indoctrinated by it were indeed largely influenced by it by playing it for far too long. Much too often is the case where players are heard criticizing games for being "WoW clones," but in a different thread literally minutes later the same poster is seen criticizing a different game for straying too far from the familiar WoW game play mechanics? I am not one to deny the positives that WoW brought to the genre, as they are many, but the mentality that it bred into the minds of its babies has had an detrimental overall effect on the genre that will be felt for a long time to come.

The guy is right. Shoot, in Vanilla WoW I wasnt even thinking about how useless Level Grinding is as a concept, especially with Content Locks behind levels.
