Back in October of 2015, we reached an
amazing milestone when our Community grew to one million Citizens. To
say I was proud and humbled then remains an understatement, and those
feelings have only doubled as I welcome our two millionth Citizen into
the ‘verse.
As Star Citizen has continued to grow over the years, so has the
community in just as many astonishing and encouraging ways. The backers
remain the foundation of this project and a beacon to the entire gaming
industry and beyond. You are proving that PC games, space sims, and a
willingness to push these artforms into new realms of innovation are
alive and well, with more exciting possibilities than ever before. With
two million people (and counting) inspiring and counting on us, the Star
Citizen team is more galvanized than ever in our efforts. We’re
listening to what you want out of Star Citizen and working to get more
amazing content and mechanics into the game, while also pouring
resources and focus into quality of life improvements and polishing
current features, to make it a satisfying experience, even while still
in Alpha. It’s your belief in the project, from the earliest backers to
those relatively new to the ‘verse, that make it all possible.
To celebrate this, we’re releasing special badges to commemorate your
dedication and engagement. The 1M badge for those of you that were part
of the first million backers, and the 2M for those brave adventurers
that have joined us since, up to and including our two millionth
Citizen. As a bonus, when available in the ‘verse, you’ll also be
receiving an in-game T-shirt with a similar logo, so your character can
sport a stylish reminder that they’ve played an integral role in the
shaping of their universe.
As we look ahead to Alpha 3.2 and beyond, the team and I thank each
and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts. When we started on
this adventure, we couldn’t have imagined the passion, perseverance, and
dedication that so many would have. It’s because of that dedication –
your dedication – that we can continue to design, build, and deliver
the Best Damn Space Sim Ever.
How is it still early prototyping? They said they have been working on it for months and months now. I hope they drop that highlighting on the selected object, it looks really shite.

Considering the R&D and Design, may well be.
I like the VFX in the rock heating laser part (except for screen shacking), making it feel satisfying to mine is core, because mining ain't the more exciting thing by default heh
Calling All Devs - Racing, NPC Traders and the RSI Roadmap
TLDS:
Questions - Plans for non-combat AI
Somewhere around 3.5 we'll add trader AI and the like. We are
currently working on the groundwork for this. When the groundwork is
done, it shouldn't be long until a full implementation.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
The Roadmap will expand quarterly. Every .X update will be followed
very closely with the next .X update added in the corresponding quarter
the next year.
Question - What's the long term plan with weapon racks/lockers? Will they be relevant?
Loadouts would be assigned to lockers for equiping later down the
line. You can still take items individually in this theoretical model.
Question - When will see racing tracks in the 'Verse/Additional AC tracks?
We've tried to create the race tracks, but ProGen improvements keeps
screwing with specific placements. So the long and short of it;
Planetary racetracks are on pause. Other races such as the new Scramble
race are still upcoming (Scramble races will just be races with
randomized checkpoints in space initiated either by mission givers or
Players)
Scramble races will be balanced for both slower ships and racers.
It's more a death race than not. It currently works on planets and
space, Space moreso as AI can currently work there.
They're considering an Arena Commander/Star Marine team to create new maps
Question - Will we be able to bookmark specific locations in the future?
Duh. Perhaps some more in-depth tools in order to "trade pins" for UEC
Question - When will we get the 2019 Roadmap?
LOOK WITH YOUR EYES
But for real, there's a roadmap for the future already planned, but
it'll be "rolling out" as we continue. We'll see one quarter pass and
another quarter added.
Pleased to see they are going to say a bit on Squadron 42 in this week's ATV and that a roadmap is meant to be in the way (better late than never). I was kind of surprised to hear that evocati will be testing Sq42 as they had always said it would go from internal testing to release, hopefully not too much gets leaked.

I was kind of surprised to hear that evocati will be testing Sq42 as they had always said it would go from internal testing to release, hopefully not too much gets leaked.
Agree that more SQ42 updates are always nice, as much as it's good to hear them explain the how's and what's of the tech developed to provide what we already have (weapons, characters etc) fresh stuff is always more exciting to watch , specially SQ42.
Has it really been confirmed to go to through Evocati ? Any Official Sources?

The cake is a lie.
