I don't think that there is even a comparison here! The Simpsons are and will always be, by far, the BEST!!
simpsons is the longest running animated series ever. I'm actually reading a book now about how the simpsons defined a generation!
Family Guy + American Dad are pretty much the same all together. Not rippin on any of them though because they are still uber funny just if you compare them to the simpsons..they get eaten alive!
The Simpsons have gotten pretty old. The baby in family guy just cracks me up. I'd have to say that's my favorite right now.
I've watched the Simpsons for like forever. I can't think of a funnier cartoon on TV. They may be getting outdated to some, but to me, they are as funny as ever.
You just can't go wrong with the Simpsons. However, I do wish they'd age the kids just a bit. I'd like to see Maggie get rid of her pacifier for just a while, too.
I've never even seen the Family Guy or American dad, but I can't imagine that they'd be better than the Simpsons.
Yep...the Simpsons. I've watched it from the beginning. It's better than most live action shows. I heard they have signed to do movies, too.
The Family Guy is just great! I love that little kid. I wanna see him take over the world!! HAH!
For me, it's dead even between The Simpsons and Family Guy.
American Dad, in my opinion, is Family Guy, minus all of the jokes and entertainment.

anyways family guy easily beats them out. the simpsons may be the longest running animation but its old and the newer episodes aren't even that funny anymore. you have to watch the old stuff if you actually want to laught out loud.
The reign of The Simpsons can't be denied. They truly were a great landmark in television comedy. However, over the past few years, the show has been slacking a LOT. The jokes aren't funny; instead of witty and silly humor, they've gone to more random and newer humor, trying to keep up with "the times," even though they should stick to their roots.
Family Guy is and always will be a great show. The newer episodes have a few weak jokes in them, but overall are still halarious.
Moreover, in social situations, I've always been able to reference a million things from Family Guy, but only a few from The Simpsons.

OK...Take the Simpsons and add more a bit of profanity and a "talking" dog and you'll end up with Family Guy.

Family guy for sure. The last 5-6 seasons of the Simpsons have been PURE CRAP. They arent even remotly funny, theyre just stupid. The old seasons were great, but family guy is still way better.
I prefer Family Guy for many reasons. I never could get into The Simpsons. I thought the shorts they put on the Tracey Uhlman show was funny but i got sick of the show after about the 2nd season. American Dad is pretty funny if you hate our government. I think its a niche show that will die in a couple seasons.. i say bring back Futurama!
You forgot to add South Park to your poll. I would have chose it over the others.

I've been a huge fan of The Simpsons, but American Dad is just hillarious. Futurama is a favorite of mine as well.

it goes family guy, futurama, american dad, simpsons. dont bring back futurama its last season blow chunks very very bad jokes. american dad good but needs its own feel i shouldnt be saying they said that on family guy already. simpsons good to watch when so bored theres nothing else to do.
