53 here. I am waiting on some work to be completed on my house. Then I am going back to play one of three games I played once before, until something new that I like gets released.
EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests
I am 52, playing right now an indie game called Rising World, pretty interesting just in early stage of development so a lot of stuff still pending, I play a little of GW2 once in a blue moon, some STO and some Wildstar. I tried Elite Dangerous but my reflexes are not what they used to be.
Yeah i tried it a few days ago. It was pretty baron. I also found it hard to navigate around the controls. It gives you some starting items with no description on what they do. You only have 8 inventory slots. And after picking an archer class and being stuck with a rusty dagger till level 5 with not seeing anyone or knowing which direction to go to get my first bow (or any armor piece), I left. Mainly just lack of description for pretty much everything (stats, class skills, bonuses, combinations, and what items/gear/equipment does) killed it for me. To top it off, there didn't seem to be a setup menu to reconfigure what keys do (or even look at what keys do what).
Well, just in case you want to try it again I'll mention a few things. You can mouse over an item and hold down the right mouse button to get a description of it.
The F9 button (I think that's the one) will cycle you through the different camera views.
You can increase your inventory slots by getting bags.
I assume you started a ranger since you said it was an archer class. Ok, they sort of are but archery is pretty weak in classic EQ. Rangers are really a duel wielding DPS class with utility spells and archery on the side. They don't get duel wield right away though but it's not too long.
There is a way to bring up a screen which shows what different buttons do and lets you reassign commands to different buttons. I haven't been playing in a long time but if I remember correctly it's hold down the alt button and press O (not zero).
Classic EQ is a game in which you really need to talk to other players. Don't be afraid to ask questions with zone-wide chat.../ooc
The main problem with it is what I said about it being an old server now. Not a lot of people playing their first characters. Far too many of the low level characters you'll see are actually alts of long time players who are likely going to be twinked to the gills with high end equipment. There are also far to many who don't actually want to play the game legit and have their buddies power level them. The twinks and power levelers kinda ruin it for actual new people.

That's pretty impressive. I did start the game when it first came out and had a lot of trouble with ranger. I suppose you could kill light blues or try to snare/root and heal. I don't recall snare and bow being viable. Perhaps it was though.

That's been my experience when I try to play Project 99. I have the newbie zones all to myself and chat filled with power level begging and high end item selling. It's not a friendly place for new players, kind of like the real EQ after a decade. Top heavy for sure.

I've heard quite a lot about Dragons' Dogma. From what I've seen it looks interesting. I have not looked much into it. Is that a console exclusive? For some odd reason I seem to have that in my head.
It started as console but there is an excellent port on steam.
While there is the "main game" there is also an expansion that is essentially a giant dungeon crawl. It's that part of the game I am concentrating on this second time around.
You see, you can "end the game" and then continue a new game with the same character/items or you can of course start a completely new game.
Since you can unlock and play any class in the game their is only one save. In truth there are two saves, one that you make and one that the game makes at certain save points.
The game is absolutely not for everyone as it's sort of a mix between Shadow of the Colossus in that you can climb upon giant monsters while you fight, Dark Souls in that some of the monsters can kill you quite easily and you have to be smart about how you play, and a role playing game "your milage may vary insert role playing game here".
Meaning it's not as open as an Elder Scrolls game but there is a reasonably open world. There is a main quest but the game doesn't really shout it at you all the time.

I have lifetimes on LotRO and TSW. I am paying monthly for SWtOR and EQ2.
The wife and I still venture in EQ2 and LotRO, sometimes with her daughter. The step daughter and I sometimes get into SWtOR. She's playing Blade and Soul too, but we've not played together yet.
But I am slowlying getting bored with the jiggling breasts of Blade & Soul.
I found a deal on ESO but haven't loaded it yet.

I will be 60 by the end of the year, so that makes me about 17 if my math is right.
I currently have several games in my rotation. Hearts of Iron 3, X-Com: Enemy Unknown, Civilization V, Age of Wonders 3. Also, I have EQ1, EQ2, LotRO, and SWTOR representing the MMORPG genre. I tend to play 2 of the first group + 1 of the MMORPG group daily, for a total playing time of about 6 hours daily.

I find myself wondering about this these days. MMORPGs change. It is inevitable. I wonder what NCSoft may have changed in the 3 years since CoX closed its doors.

I am 45. I am in my (very delayed) last undergraduate semester and job hunting*. Also, in a fit of [accidental] insanity, I had a baby at 44, so I am doing the toddler thing and the grandkid thing simultaneously. With that said...
Currently playing ASTA on my spring break (because I never really got into WoW, so the clone thing is ok with me; I hate coming over a decade late to the party, ya know? Getting in on a fresh OBT is better.) Playing a little TSW and B&S, although I don't have much time, so I haven't gotten much into the former yet (seems fun enough), and I am allergic to bots so the latter is making me itchy. I have GW2, but haven't done much with that yet either. I just installed Trinium Wars because I am a sucker for free things.
I have been thinking about going back to EQ1 (or P99), or maybe giving EQ2 a serious try (again, hate being a decade late to the party, so maybe not). Might consider playing Tera again at some point. Meh.
I liked BDO well enough in the last closed beta, but not quite enough to come off the cash-- I would probably go FFXIV if I were going to buy a game tomorrow. But that's all random rambling on my part. I graduate on April 30, God and grades willing, and I just don't have the time until then.
Outside of MMO-ish games, I have been playing Cities: Skylines. I love me some city builders.

A few things to note; NCsoft trademarked the name CoH2, City of Heroes 2, CoV2, City of Villains 2, and Paragon City Heroes in 2014. There are two really good reasons why they might have done such a thing;
1) They did not want some lowball developer to make a crappy game using those names, as that could make them look worse bad.
Or;
2) They are developing a sequel to CoH and are keeping it hush hush until some legalities are straightened out, mainly a tax liability because of when they were acquired by Nexxon (they were divested less than two years after that acquisition), but I have no idea how that plays into things for the future.

46 here, right now i'm having great times in Armored Warfare, playing also Grim Dawn and still trying many (really many) mmo but that vanilla wow is still in my hearth. That's why i'm also trying ASTA in this days.
I am almost 50 (sigh) but i would much rather play new MMO hybrids like the Division than going back to really old, out-of-time, ideas.

I'm playing 7 Days to Die off and on and waiting for a any semblance of a decent game besides the horse shit that is currently out there.
