My 11 hours of BDO

I think almost all of us agree the game looks beautiful. I really enjoyed the first 7 or so hours of playing. Just a moment ago I had to log off, because the game just started feeling dull to me. I did not feel like I was getting anywhere. Traveling from farm...to farm...to farm. Inventory was becoming a pain in the butt. I got to level 14 and my gear was pretty much the same as when I started. Don't get me wrong, I don't expect to have mastered the game in 11 hours. This game was just not my cup of tea. Thumbs up for the people that like it.  =)

I hope you find what you are looking for, I'm in retro-Lineage2 nirvana and about to log back in to sneak in a few more hours before work.

Playing: Darkfall New Dawn (and planning to play Fallout 76)
Favourite games have included: UO, Lineage2, Darkfall, Lotro, Baldur's Gate, SSX, FF7 and yes the original Wizardry on an Apple IIe

I am loving the game. I love trying to figure out the node system, crafting, and horse taming. There is always something to do and explore. Level 14 is just a number in this game.

I'm loving the game, but my wife has a similar feeling as you.  She is loving Blade and soul and was excited for BDO.  I think the thing that is getting her down the most is the Sorc and tamer she made.  Both of them look completely different on her screen in game then what she made.  For example, both have bright pink hair and are short.  In game they have black hair and are tall lol.  She is basically bummed because she put so many hours into creating them.  I've been told she will try the game again when they fix it lol.

The same thing happened to me.  I got the default appearance after all that time tweaking my character.  I just logged out, totally uninspired to try again.

    Couldn't agree more.

The game is poor. There are better theme parks out there.

The only good side to the game is figuring out how to play it.

Its a bit like the earliest games for me when I had create boot disks and tweak settings to actually run games.

Generally the games were crap however it was fun getting them to work.

The three elements which have done me in are:

The cut scenes.....very poor and removes any chance of immersion as a sandbox elemental game and

The black spirit thing...throw back to Nintendo 64 style. Good at the time but 2016? Come on. And

The zombie workers padding along the roads. Oh dear.

I know folks are playing and enjoying this but I do feel a bit let down by the misleading hype.
