As the title says, Can you make unique / complex character builds & progression in BDO?
Before you tell me "google is my friend" I just want to say that when you google builds and templates you get a million results in reference to BDO's character creator, which I don't give a flying !@#$ about. I also know from experience that digging up the information is rarely as telling as other poeple explaining it with their experiences.
I'm considering buying this game, but I don't care how in depth the character look & design is. That's not what im asking.
Can I make my characters skills, build & playstyle unique comparatively to other players? I know I'm not going to be one of a kind, but I don't want to be a clone of every other person playing my class.
I also dont want to identify a class in PVP and know how to counter it immediately and know how that person will play the class, I want to be surprised and have to adapt a variety of builds and playstyles within each class?
I know there will always be flavor of the month builds and elitist mindsets of required skills, but I've always had luck in games going against the grain and rather building against the meta in my own way.
Can I do that in this game? Thank you in advance.

However, the way pvp works in this game just by knowing a class does not mean you can counter them. There is a lot of dodging and timing involved.
You make your class unique by how you play it, not really by how you built it.
Edit: You have multiple choices for "end game" gear which all offer different stats. Faster movement speed if you like to kite more or more HP if you like to go all in. There are more variations which I can't remember. I suppose this offers some unique traits as well.
