Rock Paper Shotgun review "refreshingly subversive experience"

edited March 2016 in Black Desert Online
"Learning to enjoy it feels like systematically dismantling every instinct MMORPGs have taught me. Black Desert, a sandbox MMO that launched in Korea last year, is the Invasion of the Body Snatchers of online RPGs; underneath its familiar skin is a refreshingly subversive experience."

"Social media gives legions of idiots the right to speak when they once only spoke at a bar after a glass of wine, without harming the community ... but now they have the same right to speak as a Nobel Prize winner. It's the invasion of the idiots”

Already read it and great review... It's nice that not only players but also reviewers are seeing this game as something truly refreshing as oposed to 90% of the copy paste mmo's being released nowadays

People already know the truth. It doesn't take long to hit endgame and figure out what you're going to be doing. The game is a breath of fresh air in NA. I can't stand the endgame, but exploring the world and generally being distracted by lots of stuff is something haven't enjoyed doing in a long time. It's a hard game to pass up for $30 considering that's two months of a sub fee in a game I would enjoy less. Is it a game I'm going to spend months and months playing? No. Is there any MMO on the market that I could play for months and months? No.
