Depends what you like in a game. I been enjoying it a lot so far myself. Some would consider me hardcore, I think I have over 200h of active playtime so far. But I am still playing it in a casual way, I am not even 50 yet . If you like it 1-20 there is no way you wont like the rest of the game.

Yes. Without a doubt. Since my guild won't touch it i play it casually.

One of the best solo casual games on the market

I second this, and want to add that in my opinion it's one of the best guild based games as well.

A better version of Guildwars 2, wherein the GvG instance is actually the open world itself.

Also, anyone that was a fan of Lineage 2 should be playing this.

absolutely, i actually find it difficult to just focus on grinding simply because there are so many things on the side that keep distracting me. the house/nodes system, the trading system, the gathering/crafting system, even just exploring......all this stuff you can do it completely casually.

of course once you do reach end level there pretty much is only PvP to look forward to(for now anyways). however, it will take a long time to get there if you don't spend long hours grinding mobs.

I'm having a blast.  There is so much to do to build a character.  Crafting, PvE, managing workers and nodes, the conversation mini game and on and on.  Although, I'm a bit hooked and playing more than casually at the moment.

I think if time is limited you have to really plan out what you want to achieve in a play session, especially at the start when you are just learning the systems. There is so much do that you can end up doing very little unless you focus.

For example, depending on my mood I might dedicate a session to leveling, or doing black spirit quests, or learning a craft, making a boat, setting up nodes, explore etc and try not to get sidetracked (very difficult). When I have more time I let myself get sidetracked, which is also a lot of fun.

Just play it and enjoy the experience.. it won't matter to you if others enjoy it casually or hardcore once you really get into. The game is awesome ..like others have pointed out before, it's a better version of GW2 and AA.

I say play it as casually as you want, you will still have a good time in BDO..

Personally I'm swapping between BDO and The Division but I play my BDO warrior like a casual Darksouls.Farmer :)

I play it casually,..havin fun with all the non-combat stuff you can do.

Be warned though,.once you hit level 45, it's open world PvP whether you like it or not. Some safe areas though.

I have a feeling 45 will be the time I either stop playing or totally commit.  Now that EQN is gone,..I don't have much to look forward too, ehh.

Also,...though BDO has tons of cool things to do,...it is surprisingly restrictive from a 'social' mechanics point of view. Aside from if you join a Guild for Guild PvP, it  Kinda forcing you to be solo and self-sufficient and hinder interaction other than combat grinding.
