And lol @ people saying I can't figure out how to customize. Despite for asian mmos typically scattered options for the ui/game, I can of course find them. What I am saying is that they're not sufficient, at all. The UI and gameplay limitations are terrible.
- You can't make the chat properly opaque. Even at lowest transparency, I can't comfortably read the damn chat. - There is no autorun. What the hell. Yes, you can run to your goal, but you can't simply autorun. - You can't get out of fps targetting mode. I like to use MouseLook while holding down RMB and running on auto. For a game that doesn't have fast travel... it's a crime that this is not possible. - You can't move some very important ui elements, such as the minimap, game options and leveling info. You can only hide them. I don't want to hide them. I want to move them. - You can't scale individual UI elements. At 120% some things are too big, but for the things I need that big, I am forced to blow everything out of proportion too. /lesigh
From ArcheAge to Secret World to Tera.. no game of the last 5 years has such shortsighted limitations on ui and gameplay customization.
For a game in 2016, these are bizarre omissions. These things are not trivial. The gameplay and ui are what the things you do and interact with constantly. If these are a hindrance rather than properly flowing, they become frustrating. I've played most mmos you've heard of. And don't get me started on the daft genderlocking or that ghastly black spirit.
So some of you have kindly helped Pwlt out with finding the autorun and the mouse look, does anyone know if you can change the other game breaking items: chat transparency, move ui elements, scale ui?
The UI does suck and badly and their ? help is not in order since even after keybinding it still shows the WASD keys lmao,so really a butchered job at creating a UI.
Then the LAST thing you want to do is with a crappy UI is create a system of multiple combinations of keyboard key presses,it just adds on to a problem and compounds it. I said it before it is like two complete oppsites designed this game,in some instances it is TOO EASY automated then on the other hand it is too cumbersome to play,so two different people going in opposite directions, however the Director should oversee the entire design,so he failed the game as well.
I could never give this game more than a 3/10,i did not want to play it anymore after 2 days and that doesn't happen that often. The game COULD have been a 6/10 if it got the implementation and UI right for what it is doing but even that is not nearly enough, too much noob design over the entire game.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

You should make a thread reviewing it Wiz. Call it something like "Honest review from mmo Vet".

This is some of the cringiest **** posting I have ever read.
I agree that the UI has a lot of problems. The guild pane and friends list are my biggest issues. And I think there is a general lack of mouseover tool tips for what each symbol on map means.
So I agree with you in that sense.
I don't agree that this is enough to make the game terrible as you said in your (terrible) first post.
You've played most of the MMOs we have heard of, something something genderlocking, something something black spirit. Okay. What does that have to do with UI?
Or even with a destination, just veer off the path and you can autorun anywhere changing direction as you want. Pressing T again will get you back auto running to the destination.
How dare they do it without using NumLock!
Well that's interesting I didn't know that. Thanks!

I guess people have different definitions of being a veteran. You may have played a lot of MMOs but you clearly don't spend much time looking into things.
Auto-Run is a feature and it is done by pressing T when you don't have a waypoint set, like Azaron_Nightblade mentioned. To add to that, the "MouseLook" you mentioned is also in the game, just use Middle Mouse button instead (You can find that at the bottom of the Input Settings, under Rotate Camera.) For a person who says they looked through "every" setting in the options menu, you sure proved yourself wrong there.
"Veteran MMORPG players" go through every setting in the options menu before playing.
Precisely what I did, hence the problem, genius.
I've played my fair share of MMOs as well and I can say I found those two features within my first half an hour of playing.
Guys.. I can't even set a destination and have it on autorun as in every other mmorpg, where I control my character. So I did not fail to find this feature. It's not in the game.
Same foe the mouselook.. I am talking about the game not every switching to non-mouselook automatically unless I switch. Currently, you hit ctrl to get the mouse, but a number of actions will get you out of it. So yes, getting regular aturorun with a waypoint active and comfortably using my mouse to do stuff and switch back to mouselook by pressing and holding a button is not possible. I appreciate the other comments of "veering of the path", etc... but these are half-assed ways to get a featuere that isn't quite there.
- There is no autorun. What the hell. Yes, you can run to your goal, but you can't simply autorun.
Are your really THAT dumb?
I'm super stupid. However, as I explained in other posts, these features are not implemented in the pure sense where other actions don't halt/swap/change them. So yes, there are half-assed ways at getting a sort of autorun so long x and y doesn't happen, and you can get mouselook, but you can't comfortably stay in that mode without x and y knocking you out of it.
These and many other features just disrupt gameplay flow and make the game feel clunky. Others have mentioned some of the other problems with keybinds as well.
Sorry, but I don't see how in an objective game design sense this ui can be designated as good. It does the job, is limited and annoying in several ways.
Again, for a modern game of today, I expect mouselook hold/switch options, normal autorun (no interruptions/crap), etc, just like axis inversion is expected to be in any game option...
any game that you can customize your layout like this, doesn't have a bad UI sorry noob
That is just terrible...
the point was if you don't like the UI you can make it however you want, I watched this video to learn how to do it, then made it the way I liked it
This example drives home my point. This person downsized their entire gamescreen and ended up with huge black borders to put ui elements in..which they still would not be able to freely place whatever they wanted (several elements, such as the minimap, are locked in place). I think it looks absolutely terrible.

That person wanted to play like that, you can think it looks terrible if you want. Doesn't mean it wasn't awesome to the player especially if they have a really large display.
Also, you can autorun normally, just press T with no path set and you can steer with the mouse. It might help to press escape and read about some things before trashing it for you not figuring it out. Experiment, maybe watch some youtube videos, there are some great guides around already.

I don't know how to post a screenshot or even take one. I don't like the border or empty space in the example. I personally put all my stuff on the right side and all my bars and hot keys on the top and minimal in corner. So I don't have as much of it my screen is 24 in but I took about 2 in off the outside
