multiboxing duo

Elevenb4Elevenb4 Member UncommonPosts: 362
First time I ever multiboxed was back when the Time progression servers released on Eq1. I did a necro mage for fun. Really enjoyed it. I'm wanting to bring that same thing here. I tried a necro/conj, but kind of wanting to try something other than pet classes. I initially did pet classes in EQ1 since it seemed like it would be easier to control since I'm a novice boxer.

In this game, what two classes might seem easier to box? I was thinking a Monk and warden might be fun, but wasn't sure how complicated that might be.

I'm using isboxer suite. Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks.

You and Merc if you play regular server. You and other box with 2 mercs anything if you want to play 2 box. In other words with the Merc it don't matter what you play.

Not sure why you'd need to since they added mercs but I would think something along the lines of inq+swash maybe?

I know, but I remember before I liked moloing with a fighter and healer merc. Eventually things would just take too long and be really tedious when it came to running dungeons like that. Hence the desire to just two box. Dont' think my brain could do more than that.

I don't know it takes me about 5 days to go 1 to 100 with any class and a merc. Of course I have 5 level 100s now and get extra exp for it. If you want to two box then shadowknight and fury maybe.

edit: LOL SK can solo anything anyway.

Yeah I know. But last time I played SK's were everywhere. Plus I actually want to go through all the dungeons this time just boxing. I've always wanted a max level necro and conj.

Bad game for duo boxing because it is so spammy. You really can be spamming something every second,so you have no time to play the other player.FFXI is the best game i have ever played for duo boxing.
Yes Inquisitor is most obvious choice because using reactive allows you time away from healer but overall a healer can do much more but not when duo boxing.

I played SK a LLT and no it can';t solo anything. The one merc my choice was a Rogue is very powerful but 1 on 1 .In those grouped zones your duo box is not strong enough, some yes when you hit green mobs but that is not as fun as fighting them yellow.I have fought yellows duo box with mercs but is way too cumbersome, better with a real group.

Sadly like Wow and many games,it is all about the gear and spell tiers and not about your skill as a player.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

How is the defiler these days?
Back in my time it was wanted in groups and raids, but slow and tough to play alone.
I love badass debuffers, can't really think of a game that has one anymore.

i have never played FFXI but it's easier to box than a game like EQ1?

IMO EQ2 is actually quite good for dual boxing compared to other similar mmo's like wow and SWTOR for example.

a big reason i like it is because of the offensive/defensive targeting system, plus the ability queue helps a lot as well.  not to mention your characters auto facing targets as well, another big help for dual boxing.

it is still spamming like you said but with my duo i don't have much trouble with it and i don't expect it to be as efficient as a real duo.

as far as games i have played, EQ1 is the easiest to dual box without macros, especially if you are boxing a healer.

Loved dual boxing in EQ1. Having fin so far in EQ2.  My necro/conj team is getting almost to 50 now, just running dungeons. Soloing a BL for the questing side of things. Keeps it fresh. Wanting to try something with a Dirge. Maybe a Zerk or Monk. I dont' know. Boxing with a Bard seems like it would be really fun. Run a dps and healer merc maybe.

    Rift has several

Archon Drainer is one of the best debuffers in game:

Also the Defiler - it's all about links and debuffs:

You can go ahead and throw rotten tomatoes at me now, I know you want to.
I have always wanted to try Rift out for more than a few hours. But the animations always turned me off big time. Of course this coming from someone that doesn't mind the "horrible" animations of EQ2 lol. I might just have to buckle down for a few days and really give it a go. I have a lot of friends that love Rift.
