When noob developer see games like Stardew mountain raking in big dollars,we are going to get a lot more of that trash because of it.
When devs see Wow design, they copy it,devs see moba's ,now tons are copying that,it is really simple, they see $$$$ they go for that market.

Stardew Valley is awesome if you like classic SNES games.

You know Stardew Valley was made by a single person, right? There's probably a reason why it's been so well received. I don't think it's been at the top of the Steam charts because it's garbage. I think you're just bitter and cynical about every game.

I don't believe this genre is dying, but I do think it is very stagnant. New technology will come shortly for instance VR that will probably take it to a new level. If not VR something will happen because technology only gets better.

Flood of low quality but FREE MMO's will I'm afraid for sure prevent apparition of some new good game. Never understood, but people love word "free", no matter quality. For some even vomit is great if it is come free. On the other side, and I know few, have no problem spending every month amount equal or surpassing i.e. 4 MMO's subs for cigarettes or alike. No problem there.

Still, as long as I have Swtor, Wow, Rift and Gw2, ... all my gaming needs are covered for time being. But still would have nothing against getting more good PVE games in MMO world.
