Since this game doesn't go with the holy trinity setup, I wonder if classes matter at all in groups and tougher content or can a party of five X class perform just as good as a party of X,Y,Z,W,Q?

This would depend on many factors, and GvG node wars are not quite here. I can tell you that for guild or world bosses, a tank or three is handy. Outside of that? It's all about using what you have. For the 1v1 types, ranger and sorc are popular.
Tanks are currently shitty and broken. DP does nothing for you, so you're just as squishy as a wizard unless you have your shield up 24/7 (not possible) but do no damage.
A wizard or witch can heal you, shield you, buff your attack speed and they're the only class that can rez... don't leave home without one,

You're better off playing the the game and seeing for yourself. I find all of the classes enjoyable. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. I know lots of warriors having fun with their abilities. Do they want them to get better? Of course they do.
The class issue here is no different than the class issue in every other game that has been released. To every player, every other class is OP and needs nerfing, and their class needs buffing. Just play the class that fits your style and run with it. BDO is more so a group PvP game than it is a 1v1 PvP game. Join a good guild and bring friends that compliment your style and you will have no problems.

I'm a Wizard myself.
