Remember when 400k would have made this one of the most successful MMO out there?
Alas that was before wow... That said, 400k does seem a little low considering the barrier to entry is half the price of a normal AAA PC title at launch.
The whining about the need for PVE only in every MMO is getting rather old. It's EXTREMELY boring killing mindless, programmed AI bots.
Personally, if an MMO is going to have PVP and PVE, there should be separate servers for each so as to cater to each separate crowd.
But for the PVE crowd to whine and cry about a game having PVP content at end-game, is complete madness. There are ways (if you're creative enough) to keep PVP to a minimum at end-game.
This isn't the SIMS or Farmland, people. MMO's like BDO, AA, SWTOR, etc., were made for PVP. If you want to farm or fish without the threat of being ganked, go buy a farming or fishing simulator and play all the PVE you want.
I'm getting so tired of the small PVE crowd (yes, it's smaller than some would have you believe) wanting all of these large, beautiful MMO's to be PVE only. It's never going to happen.
If you want a certain MMO to have either PVE or PVP only, then you need to plead with the developers FROM THE BEGINNING to have separate servers for both. If not, then don't play the damn game. Whining and crying because a certain aspect of the game isn't there AFTER THE FACT isn't going to do anything but make you look foolish.

SWTOR was made for PVP? That's a new one lol. In the history of PVE MMOs that have tacked-on, token PVP, there has never been a better example than SWTOR.

While the main story theme-park aspects of SWTOR were absolutely amazing, the most fun my friends and guild had in SWTOR was the PVP aspectc. I'm not talking the large PVP end-game mini-games. I'm talking about anytime, anywhere, any map. PVP battles, guild battles, taking over and defending certain locations or enemy bases. The PVP'ers made their own fun.
Of course, you had to be on a PVP server. SWTOR had separate servers for PVE and PVP (which every MMO should do). It's a waste of game mechanics if you have all these light sabers, force powers, big guns, etc., and can only use them on mindless AI bots.
There's no skill in killing pre-programmed, predictable AI bots. PVP is always more fun, challenging, and unpredictable. And isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
If PVE'ers want PVE-only in some (or all) of these MMO's, they need to ask for separate servers from the beginning. Otherwise, it's just a waste of time, energy, and internet bandwidth after the fact.

I got a good laugh out of that one too. xD Clearly it's made for PvP, that must be why the PvP servers have always struggled with population that much.
That being said, I'm in favor of the new system they recently implemented. AKA, letting people choose what instance they want to play on, PvE or PvP. It's all about choice. I think most of BDO's PvE crowd would also be happy with that kind of solution.
PvPers... it depends on the kind of PvPer we're talking about. The ones that are into node and guild wars, and even the ones that kill those who come into their farming spots probably wouldn't mind too much. The kind that lives to kill undergeared noobs on the other hand would scream bloody murder.
TL;DR version: Every server is both PvP & PvE. You pick which instance (in BDO's case, channel) you want to play on, and you can switch whenever you want to.
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

I was on a PVP server and looked forward to massive battles in Ilum but we all know how that turned out don't we?
You just can't put SWTOR in a list of MMOs "made for PVP." If it wasn't obvious from the beginning it became so when they abandoned Ilum instead of fixing it. BDO, AA as well as DAoC, WAR or even ESO... those were made for PVP. Neither WOW nor SWTOR nor LOTRO were even if they had some in there "tacked on" as I said.
