But can I take off my helmet without going through a Rube Goldberg, tilde-opening, insert CM LINE code, hook-up-an NES controller and hit A B B A downstroke while offering a prayer to Cthulhu yet?
Honestly, I paid $15 once to give these guys a boost since they seemed like they were struggling and I had played a few hours for free and had a good time (and in slight solidarity to my fellow gamers who enjoyed the title). Then, the filthy casual that I am discovered why they were struggling.
I don't have the inclination to learn how to change helmets. It just shouldn't be that hard. I mainly went into the game because, despite having been unimpressed with the OB, I had seen all these great things about character customization in the pre-launch commercials/videos.
Maybe that content is there, just waiting for me to come back and discover it. I've moved on though. I realize they were trying to do a lot of things, but there are certain staples that I expect to find in themepark MMOs. An easy way to turn the helmet graphic on or off is one of them.
If I was having that kind of trouble with something so mundane, what kind of headaches awaited down the road?
I wish this game good luck, it has its fans, but if it is still around a year from now I will be surprised. Then again I am surprised it is here now.
To be honest, I really think they need to make the game a bit more casual. (Which they are starting to do) Make veteran dungeons a little more approachable and easier. And if you want to keep the game difficult, just make another tier of dungeons.
I also feel they need to lay off the constant housing and decor and start giving rewards for PvE players. Better costumes, CHEAPER prices on dyes and dying gear, mounts and others.
As for the classes, I want an Aurin Warrior. I'm leveling an Esper now but id love a warrior.
