Kim Byung-kwan, Webzen's current chairman and former CEO won a parliamentary seat in the recent South Korean election - the first game-industry figure to become a National Assemblyman if not the world.
During his campaign, Kim said, if elected, he would push to ease regulations that “hamper” the local (South Korea) gaming industry’s advancement.
Webzen shares were reportedly trading higher on the morning of Kim's victory.
