I came across this interesting article about being a moderator and the type of people encountered online while working as a moderator.
The link title is a bit "click-baitey" but its seems to me that Marc Burrows enjoyed his job:
"So here’s to the ranters, here’s to the jokes and the knowledge and the fury, here’s to making it great again, because all things can work if we work at them, and use them … in moderation.
