My hopes lie in graphene super-conductors yet, but that's still a ways out and doubtful of a future market, very cheap to manufacture and would sell just as cheap. Lithium being more precious and tedious holds better for business.
This is one technology needed to propel electric vehicles further. The Battery is always where the electric car loses. I imagine Tesla will try and work on this since they are heavily invested in batteries.
