Not even close to type of information I had on mind - ie. more technical details and coherent article than just vague announcements and snippets from community manager.
Again, what they can do or not is still up to Daum, you do not know the ties there are.
Regardless, what is very likely to happen is that proper fix - re-writing good deal of the game, is going to be qualified as cost ineffeficient and they will seek alternative ways to deal with the issue. Needless to say how unlikely efffective this will be.
But who knows...
I am not "of bad faith", I am just realistic.
It's true that it would be nice, but rare are the devs./publishers that will be as transparent as what you are asking for here, especially when hacking and cheats are concerned. Most will stick to the PR stuff just to disarm the situation a little, while they try (or don't, who knows) to do something about it as best they can.
The Division (from Ubisoft) had very similar issues with client side stats and data that was used in hacks in Beta. The only words from Ubisoft was that they took note of that and that they would do all in their power to fix this for release. Last I eard, nothing was done to help with that... So seeing Daum post something like that, small as it may be, shows that they are at least trying to do something. Will it fix the problem? Doubtful, but it may very well give them the time they need to figure something out.
As far as jumping back in the core code to implement it as it should have been in the first place, I think we both agree that this has very very little chance of happening!
"But who knows.. " like you said!
I may also just be an eternal optimistic who gives people too many chances...
You've lost me here Daum. I'd appreciate you policing the game, rather than appealing to the many good-natured players you've managed to obtain so far. How about an event tailored to intended content?
