You'd think that in a game where you can grow old and die, you could also break your damn leg from a two story fall.
    1. No, this isn't the only jump/vault/somersault animation we'll ever have
I didn't assume it was.  Didn't say anything of the sort!

    2. Yes, there's fall damage. No, it wasn't present in the video
    Great!

    whilan said:

    3. Yes, it should have done a drop-roll at the end. We didn't have the animation finished yet but wanted to show a work-in-progress anyways
    Sweet!

    whilan said:

    4. No. Not everyone can do this vault. Strength, Agility, and physique determine which animations are available to you.
    Armor?  Carried weight?  Age?

    5. Yes. Assassins are badass and yes, doing this in broad daylight would draw attention to you.
Assassins being badass will be determined heavily by the stealth/hiding system involved.  As someone who prefers the cloaking/stealthy/sneaky sneaky class in almost every game I play, I'll be the judge of "badassery" when that day comes.

For instance, the Assassin I play in GURPS has a high level of personal skills in these areas, which are then backed up by minor magical ability in the illusion college which allows for even more sneaky sneaky.  So, for instance, if I wanted to run across a rooftop in broad daylight, then I would cast invisibility on myself and make a dash for it before the spell runs out.
I quoted the whole thing so there is context and more information and not to say they applied to what you were saying, I called your attention to point 2 as that was referring to the post I was quoting.

Also as you pointed out "bad assery" is subjective to the person. So I wouldn't put too much weight onto it. It's also why I made a less subjective version of that list below it, just stating the info they provided.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

Is ToR going to be good? Dude it's Bioware making a freaking star wars game, all signs point to awesome. -G4tv MMo report.

I wanted to call out this singular line instead of the addressing the whole thing as I did in the previous post.  Hopefully I can just answer the question and not completely derail the thread into magic.

Anyway to be able to cast invisibility you'd probably either need an alchemist of some sort (if one exists) to buy or you can make your own potions to turn you invisible but you'd have to train yourself up for that first beforehand. Otherwise You'd have to use magic. To cast magic you'd first have to get somewhat lucky and do the right things to unlock the magic trait in your character. To what those are...are still unknown to me.  Second you'd have to get the right ingredients (this isn't hard if you know what you are doing) then you'd have to cast the spell and from the way they make it sound that takes time and i'm not talking 3 or so seconds. I'm talking maybe a minute of solid casting.  Being stuck in a location for even a minute is not good for an assassin that's trying to be careful, especially if that comes with any associated particle effects.

Granted between now and "launch" this is all subject to change but unless you have solid access to some kind of invisibility potion, it might be better just to wait until night or when no one is looking and be careful.

Help me Bioware, you're my only hope.

This is the kind of shit that makes me want to play the game even less.
    Why?
Well I had same idea but then I changed my mind ..
Going back to all previous Kick starter mmo all had terrible ugly clunky animations and kept those animation after release can't remember the one that released .... 2 years out of 5 years of development as they stated .

But here game is in very early stage Caspian numerous times said until not long ago they where a team of 2 guys and only recently managed to hire people and reach a team of 14 people.

And so far we have seen some sweet animation sweet graphics and sweet physics whith which none of previous KS could be proud of.

Not sure what exactly you said here, but no kickstarter MMOs have kept animations from test until release, because none have really been released unless you mean Pathfinder.

Almost every normal MMO updates graphics and animations throughout development. The only reason to even focus on that sort of thing early is to garner more crowdfunding from the youngins who think graphics are more important gameplay.

There's nothing wrong with parkour, it just needs to flow. The animation kinda slows your movement down, players will get sick of it after the first few times and that technique isn't the best to use.

parkour: the sport of moving along a route, typically in a city, trying to get around or through various obstacles in the quickest and most efficient manner possible, as by jumping, climbing, or running

There really isnt real definition what parkour is.

Yes Pathfinder ...dat combat ...as if we are back to 2002 ))
I know I know always same story graphics animations updates  throughout development. But its a bad excuse)))
Soul bound even on this early stage did an great work shouldn't we give them credit for it ?
Also graphics animations updates  throughout development don't work well with KS as their budget is rather short I don't think Pathfinder will manage to stay in development for 3 more years .
Blizzard for example yeah they can stay in development for 10 years but KS will never survive a long term development.
I don't know man but CoE is first Kick starter that got my attention all that soul system and focus on lore political aspect of the game and survival aspect death and reincarnation and many other core feature of the game sound very fresh + to all this nice graphics and smooth animation even at this stage ....that why I want to give these guys my money.....

Give it time. CoE is still in pre-alpha, remember.
lunawisp was my peacebringer in City of Heroes. She lives on, in memory, as my gaming id

Lol,people were quick to critique a simple video when there is not even a finished game yet.
You don't need to show damage or 20 different animations in one simple video,it is just showing us "something" which is better than nothing.

It is called marketing, get your game out there, get people to notice it,i really don't have any problem with that.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

This just seems really out of place here. Why on earth would you flip like that off a roof for no damned reason. Just so random.
