Once I searched through Best Buy's online list of video cards to see if any of them were a good deal.  I found exactly one that was.

It was out of stock.

@blueturtle13 ; They are liquidating the old cards because the dx12 card are inbound. If you wait even longer the price will be even lower ,imho. The 970 is almost 4 years old now , atleast ?

Newegg had GTX970 at similar prices for a year now (standard price was more or less 299$). And not reference (ewwwwww) model. Not really sure how thats a "good deal"

Because the same specced model at Newegg right now is more money.  That is why it is a 'good deal' whether you agree or not. $279.99 for a GTX 970 4 Gig that easily overclocks is a good deal.

I think its about $150 or so less than it was just a month ago. So yeah.
They will be looking to dump those cards in favor of the new ones so now is not a bad time to snatch up something while the inventory still exists. Although to be fair the newer ones will be faster etc.

No, "good deal" is when its substantially cheaper than other places, not same price you could have gotten it for the most part of last year lol Same "specced" is same like every other reference 970 out there and every AIB one is better

Yup, this should die as it was ordinary GTX970 price for half day only. Theres really nothign special about that price. MY ego has nothing to do with it, instead accepting that its not all that good a deal and be happy that you learned something. When you find 200$ GTX970, by all means, post again, that would even be something worth buying nowadays.

I learned nothing because I have a much better card. You can not buy a GTX 970 4 Gig for $200 today. Period. The best you can hope for is something under $300. This was. End of story. 

And thats the whole point. 200 is pretty cheap deserving huge font and all that....stuff.

280 is pretty much regular price for the past year.

End of story
