    Not even close.

I mean Black Desert is nowhere remotely close to EvE in terms of sandbox political/economic simulation.

It's quite an insult to EvE.

I love Black Desert for what it is, but come on now.
What end game guild are you in, in Black Desert ? I see a lot of politics flash up on the screen with guild at war, truces ect.

Because you don't understand Black Desert heh, those war/truce messages are groups fighting over grind spots - if you declare a war on a guild, you can kill a player without karma penalty.

Even with upcoming node wars and sieges, which are all timed it is really shallow compared to EvE. Node wars and sieges are like mini games, they don't really have a deep impact on the game and there is no permanent gain nor loss like there is in EvE. What Korean players have been complaining about sieges and node wars is their minimal impact on actual game world thus making them a bit meaningless.

The 2 games are not remotely in the same league in terms of conflict and territory control. In BD you can't lose anything meaningful - in EvE you can lose everything.

Well said, I really felt like pvp in this game was pretty flat and pointless. This game also really is missing an identity. It has a lot of systems from themepark games, but forgoes some of the best aspects of a themepark, like pve dungeons and pve raids. It really isn't true sandbox either since everything is controlled and your actions have very little impact on the world. Even the pvp aspects like restricting pvp unitl level 45 in an open world pvp game is just silly. I also can't stand having the AH having set prices, I really don't understand why this and no player trading is a thing in this game. A true sandbox doesn't try to control its economy.

Given how successful those measures were in combatting RMT'ers i don't think it would be too surprising that more games in the future are released with those same restrictions, nor would it surprise me if games currently with RMT issues implemented a few of those measures, particularly as the measures in question don't appear to have noticeably impacted players gameplay options, and the game is clearly thriving, perhaps not in spite of it, but because of it. :p

Of course it is thriving since they are the only company fighting against gold sellers!! they are teh hero of justice!! Who cares if they have raped and killed mandatory feature that actually makes an online game feel like virtual world and not just another single player game with optional multiplayer.

On a completely unrelated note, for years now Dragon Nest has been doing the same shit : heavily restricted trading system, heavily restricted chat system; combined together totally killed gold selling including spam. Yet nobody sing a hero song for them.

Boobs are LIFE, Boobs are LOVE, Boobs are JUSTICE, Boobs are mankind's HOPES and DREAMS. People who complain about boobs have lost their humanity.

I think people are going to get sick of this game pretty fast. Eve online is a straight up sandbox MMO, BDO is more of sandpark. There might be a few similarities, but overall I think they are vastly different types of MMOs.
Sandpark isn't necessarily a bad thing.  A lot of people tend to jihad for or against pure themepark and sandbox games.  Maybe an avowed Sandpark game is what the doctor ordered.
I agree, but I think this game is missing some of the better aspects of each.
Could be.  I haven't gotten too into it yet.  I'm yet addicted to WoWs, so until I get over that, I'll hit BDO a lot harder and see.

If you enjoy Wow you probably won't like this game. Just my 2 cents of course.

Dragon Nest? if the game had been any good it would have done well, as it is, its not enough just to protect your game from RMT'ers, you also need to have a game that people want to play, and then theres the Nexon thing.
I seriously doubt that protecting Dragons nest from RMT'ers made a shred of difference to the games lack of popularity, a more likely culprit is the game mechanics and the cash shop, and Nexon of course. :p

i wonder why players come to unlogic conclusions like this..

most people lack some serieus briancells on these forums.

Eve is a player driven sandbox.. while  in bdo everything is controlled.

There are pills on the internet for usage of extra cells in brain.. try look them up
Only thing controlled in BDO is that you are forced to create a character before jumping in game. The next step is up to you. Of course if you lack any kind of imagination you can follow 1-50 quick guide videos and be done with it.

When looking for brain pills try googling for BDO features before writing a nonsense like you did.
your on the same level as op

    eve:
    Everything in eve is playerdriven..

    BDO:

    controlled auction house
    classes base system
    leveling pve
    static towns and npc cities..
    static housing

i am not sure how to explain is anymore tho..
    freetip:
    reread before posting

Eve has basically a class based sytemed hidden in a skill system. If one doesn't have the right skills to fly a ship then they can't.  The ship themselves are your classes. Eve isn't that different from most themparks, sorry to burst your bubble.  The ship themselves have "class" in them... Eve had pve quest all over the place.

I guess when one hasn't played many mmo's, I can see how they would think Eve is different from any other game.

I agree with OP. The other day I was thinking the same, there are a lot of similarities.

Been playing since day 1 and I am loving this awesome and complex game.

I can haul goods from place to place in BDO.
I can haul goods from place to place in EVE.

Therefore BDO is closest thing to EVE.

    Sound logic indeed.

Also, it's cool comparing to games you have no clue of...

If one is going to question the intelligence of others....one might want to use spellcheck.

Hey OP, nevermind the haters here. So it felt like EVE to you? To each their own...something many people need to learn here on this forum. Insulting the guy because he said the game reminds him of EVE...wow. Some of you need a life, seriously. They are just games.

Sounds like he comparing the griefing and unregulated pvp, in which case he would be right.
As a hardcore PvPer, even I can't stand the mentality of griefers.
But I thought BDO was suppose to be different? More meaning to the PvP?
    Is this not true?
