MMOGFAILS slams Black Desert Online, EU version. Says that pretty much everything is hackable.

vomomotovomomoto Member UncommonPosts: 82
Someone gave MMOGFAILS a EU account to mess around in. His report is pretty fucked up.

"First of all, most Russian hacks work, but not all of them. Daum's version of XIGNCODE3 is newer (or just different) than the one I encountered on the Russian version.
I could not bypass it using the tools I used on the Russian version, thankfully the Russian hacks that worked bypassed it for me.

Here are the hacks that I can confirm are working:
Unlimited HP, MP, remove all CD's and animations, "game" hacks - this means Amity and Bargaining, and of course the item hacks that allowed me to get all my gear in a day rather than a week. Sorry to all those that saw me get 2 Witch's Earrings in a span of minutes. I was doing it for science!"

Link for those interested in the full story.

Seems like BDO is truly pwnd. He also says there is a max HP/MP per level hack. This is just fucked up. GG BDO, GG.

You have never seen anyone get 2X rare items in minutes? I have, multiple times.
I can also confirm this works <3

Not shocked at all. Glad I jumped ship when I did.

Doesn't affect my gameplay. Enjoying the game. I do hope they fix it though.

    The same post again?
There are hackers in all online games.

As far as i know, they are slowly banned. You can even see whine posts on official forums.
Still, there will be cheaters, like in every game.

It does not cut short your gaming experience, IMO. Surely it does not influence me in any way. Iam 53+, +15 guy on 3 chars.

Besides - drops are server-side, cheats are client side. So dont say there is a hack to drop epics, its bulltail. There is a code to link every item in game on chat window, but its only to link it in chat. Nothing more.

I don't see how anyone can get satisfaction in a game when using a hack. What kind of satisfaction do they get by having everything handed to them on a plate? I assume that hackers get bored quite quickly as there is no challenge and so no fun.

First rule of any multiplayer game development: control your shit on the server or atleast validate clients messages.

No idea how it works, but I can get the rarest item to become more common.
Unless grinding 12 hours for an item and not getting it, then using a hack and getting two in the span of a few minutes was sheer dumb luck.
I outfitted my character in a few hours. Not going to use that feature again until better gear comes out.
No one seems to care since boss armors are the new thing anyway.

I bought it from a rl friend, who paid a lot of money for it. Well I got him a pizza hut gift card I had around here, but I know he paid a lot for it  =)
I am doing it just to see if Daum actually cares. I reported so many hackers, no reward yet. Some of them are still in game. Its actually pretty fun doing small scale PvP and ripping apart Sorc and Rangers with my Zerker. Revenge is pretty sweet.

Sounds like this game is already swirling in a toilet bowl and is about to get sucked down to the sewers.

The issue lies in accountability... EU/NA people have no way to be held accountable for their actions... you ban their account, oh well they either move on or get a new account.

There needs to be some sort of ID system developed in the gaming industry that forces people to tie their accounts to a ID number. This way developers and gamers would know "repeat" cheaters...

    No, they are not.

Lol @ the people who thought there would ever be a Korean MMORPG that wasn't a hack fest, cheat fest and/or bot fest.  Would not be surprised of the developer responded with "working as intended," and typically when a game is this broken there is very little they can really do to fix it since there are likely holes everywhere to exploit.  The entire development process is usually completely asinine.

I wonder if they've ever done a code review...

Lineage II is a good example.  No matter how many "fixes" NCSoft did, the hacker programs always had a plan B to implement the same hack even on patched clients/servers.

Lol the report initiative....again, this does jack if they dont fix the client/server issue.
  • olepiolepi Member EpicPosts: 3,062
I'm guessing with the Korean gaming ID system, they don't have to worry about cheaters?

I agree with this, But I would say its the people who naturally are not that good at gaming or competitive gaming so they use cheats. It just has to do with the fact that we all game for different reasons, some to grief, some for adventure some to flash their ***** at people in pvp because they payed the most for their gear but their really lame loners in real life. And this is not just speculation I know people from all these categories from all around the world, I think most of us do.

This has been reported to Daum since beta.

As bad as the severity of hacks in game are, what's even worse is a complete lack of any code changes to address the actual problem.

Considering that the developer had known about this vulnerability for almost 2 years of it running in Korea...... I don't even know what to say at this point.

I used to be angry about this, now I just feel sadness when I think about it.
...And yet you still gave these guys money. Oh well. I guess until people stop rewarding asshole companies for being asshole companies this giant shit show will continue.
Funny story.  I bought it, fell for the hype train, and refunded it. They even let me keep the game lol. (I still won't touch it with a 10ft pole)
