Am I the only one who has totally lost any sense of excitement from new Intel CPU releases?
Every new chip in the Core line has been ... better efficiency, better power management, better iGPU... which is great, especially for mobile. But pretty much same core counts, no meaningful differences in IPC, no meaningful changes in clockspeed.

Well, the i7-6800k/6850k and 6950k are coming out and are i think 8core/10core hyperthreaded. So, i guess that's sorta kinda exciting?

It'll be nice for rendering and those that do DC. It's definitely not a gamer chip though.
